GILLESPIE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE5 days agoAgencyCID Sergeant James Ahrens and Deputy-Investigator Bobby Blumrich of the Gillespie County Sheriff’s Office gave a presentation on Scams and Identify Theft for a women’s lunch and learn event on Saturday at Bridge Church. This was a very receptive audience and they asked a lot of good questions and even shared some of their own experiences. This is a great informed presentation. Please try to educate yourself on all the scams out there to keep your identity safe and prevent you from becoming a victim. GILLESPIE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE2+ weeks agoAgencyOn Saturday, June 8, 2024, at around 7:13 p. m., deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash near the intersection of South SH 16 and Leyendecker Road. Upon arrival, deputies determined there were no injuries to any of the occupants involved in the crash. While investigating the crash, it was determined that the male driver of one of the vehicles had crossed over the center marking lines into oncoming traffic and struck two vehicles, sending one down into the Pedernales River upside down. After further investigation, the driver, 27 years old and of Buda, TX, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More. All arrested individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.6Like2

GILLESPIE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE5 days agoAgency𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 At around 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, deputies and an investigator with the GCSO met with a male subject at the Gillespie County Law Enforcement Center regarding this case. The male subject, 21 years old and of Stonewall, subsequently admitted to taking the rifle and surrendering it to law enforcement. The male subject was arrested and charged with Theft of a Firearm. 𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐎𝐅 𝐀 𝐕𝐄𝐇𝐈𝐂𝐋𝐄 On Sunday, June 23, 2024, at approximately 11:55 p.m., a deputy met with a complainant who requested to report a rifle being stolen from his vehicle. The complainant advised that yesterday evening (June 22nd) he was at the Peach Jamboree and afterward went to a residence in Stonewall for a party. While at the party, he went to his vehicle to show a male subject the rifle, which was described as a Windham Weaponry AR-15 with a Nikon 4.5x14 power scope. After the male subject looked at the rifle he placed the rifle back under the seat and closed the pickup door. He left the party hours later and when he woke up this morning, he noticed that the rifle was not under the back seat of the pickup.
