Railway transporting passengers on a picturesque ride to the summit of Schafberg Mountain.

Definitely worth doing. Views are amazing from the top. You can buy a one way ticket up and then walk down or buy a round trip. Walking down from the top takes about 3 hours depending on how fast you walk and how much you stop. We had to specify a time for the return but were able to change the time once we got to the top. At the very top is a cafe with outdoor seating. Great 360 views. There are a few pathways to walk around up top. Probably want to plan to spend time to walk around and take pictures or do some light hiking. For a weekday in peak summer it was crowded. Don’t have to buy tickets too far in advance but you might have to wait a couple train times if you do walk up in peak season.

Abigail Adamek — Google review

It's way overpriced!!!!! The view from the top is amazing, but the ride is very slow and hot during the summer..

Yaniv Ashkenazy — Google review

This rail station is Austria's steepest COG railway has been running since 1893 from St. Wolfgang up to the Schafberg. The train takes 35 minutes to cover a total distance of around 6 kilometers, rising around 1200 vertical meters. It is memorable experiences I am sure you will enjoy with your family and friends , the round trip ticket for adult is 47.60 Euro.

Dr. Hani Hossni — Google review

Beautiful place! Perfect views! 👍 You can climb this mountain by foot or you can visit the peak even wuth a train! At the top there is a mountain hotel and a hut. We came to the top by foot and it took u less than 3 hours. It was a perfect walk up and down.

Zoran Stanko — Google review

Amazing place, beautiful trains take you up to the mountains 35 minutes. There you can see wonderful views, rest and eat and make a lot of photos. One of the most picturesque places I saw.

Natalia Navrotska — Google review

The Schafberg Bahn offers an intriguing experience with a scenic trip, but it's advisable to avoid it during the summer. The cabins tend to heat up significantly, reaching uncomfortable temperatures over 40 degrees Celsius, especially since they are packed with passengers. The high price of 50 euros per person for this experience feels steep. However, the panoramic view from the top is breathtaking, featuring a 360-degree perspective. Additionally, there are two restaurants available for refreshment during your visit.

Emmanouil Gyparakis — Google review

Nice mountain with beautiful views of the valley and lakes around it. Best way to get there is by the steam train, which takes about 35 minutes and run every 20 minutes during peak period (hiking is also an option).

Patrick Hanna — Google review

A fun and unique way to get up the mountain. We went during peak season in August. We went early to get the first train at 08:50 and to be able to park in the car park right next to it which fills up fast.Had pre bought tickets online.Views from top amazing and huge restaurant as well as other food stands.Love the trains in the bright red, makes for good photos and video of them chugging up and down.Made the mistake of walking all the way back down 4250 feet. A bit much!

Carl B — Google review

Unique experience, but there is too many people and not so much to do on the top. Don’t get me wrong, the views are amazing, but there is not much to do on top.

R?mi Martin — Google review

Beautiful ride up the mountain! A bit expensive, but I get why: the train station and the ride up are modern and smooth. We had no issues. Once up, I recommend staying around 2h and maybe do a little hike on the right side of the train station, as you look up the mountain.

Andrei Toma — Google review

Nice experience in a slow-moving train with beautiful scenery along the way. The view at the peak is beautiful. A must-do activity if you are around the region. You won't regret it with the amazing scenery you get at the peak. It's quite pricey as it costs euro 47.6 per adult but it's worth it. Need to book the descending train slot when you buy the tickets.

Jenny Law — Google review

Fun steam train ride of about 35 minutes with amazing views along the way. Our group road the train on a Monday around 11:30 am. We didn’t experience any issues, but the train was fully sold and completely full.Recommend arriving early enough to be able to pick seats together (especially for larger groups). Also recommend being near the window when possible to get a breeze when it’s available. When our group went, the temperature outside was in the high 70s, but inside the train, it was significantly hotter. These trains have no air-conditioning and little circulation so be aware in the summer months.Overall, the views were amazing, you won’t be disappointed.

Eddie Wukowitz — Google review

The Best Mountain Train Experience you can have.Superb views , everything was run professionally and no issues at all with anything .My suggestion is to make sure you book your tickets online beforehand like we did . For both up and down trips time to suit you.Makes life a lot easier as you are then guaranteed a seat on the trip time that you selected. The whole experience was awesomeness at its best !

Rick Williams — Google review

Not for people with health conditions! I was excited to enjoy the view and was expecting that in 2023 society is inclusive and options are offered for visitors that have problems walking or hear problems etc , but I had to learn , just do not go up. I managed to get on the train, but to reach the hotel and restaurant on top , one has to walk ca 1/4 mile steep uphill. If you can not do it, there is really nothing you can enjoy at the train station on top…. Maybe the rest rooms 😢 … otherwise really no. Onside ration for the disabled . Should have read before , but pretty disappointing … enjoy other sides that carry for people that had surgery and can not walk an incline , but do not expect any help or provision … hope they wake up one day and think about society members in wheel chairs or otherwise challenged people … until then never again

Nigel “Markus” M — Google review

Awesomeness all around.Even the drive to this point was breathtaking.Price of a round trip is a bit on the higher side. 43 euro per person. But we dont mind that a bit.It takes around 30 mins for one side. Vintage style travelling. Views around just keep getting better. Might be hard to climb in for people with some difficulty with legs. No arm chair support.Note: you have to select boarding and returning time before hand. At the counter, they accept card payment too.In all, if you can, don’t miss it.There are eateries at the top. But carry some cash.

Fortress

Museums

A huge, 11th-century fortress complex on a hilltop with breathtaking views over the city to the Alps is an unforgettable visitor experience. The fortress also offers one of the largest Medieval castles in Europe, with an exhibition space of over 335,000 square feet in 50 buildings.

Great place to visit when in Salzburg. You can walk up but we chose to take the funicular railway, which was fun. We bought the €13 basic ticket which was good value. It gives you return trip on the funicular railway as well as entry into most of the small museums. Museums were wonderful lots of interactive exhibits and easy to understand explanations. Great for kids and adults alike. A must visit when in Salzburg.

Karen Edwards — Google review

Absolutely amazing and a romantic experience! The short train ride up to the castle was fun. The views from the top looking down over this romantic little city was breathtaking. Inside the Fortress were highly interesting exhibitions. Great food and friendly staff. Just perfect for couples and families with children. Can't wait to go back.

Eva Leidenberger — Google review

Spent our last few hours in Salzburg hiking up to the Fortress. It was a great way to spend the morning. I really enjoyed learning about the centuries of change the fortress went through. I would recommend walking up, so you get a really good idea of why the fortress was so strong. The hill is long and steep. Seeing the three different gates makes a big impression as to the strength of the place.

George Sorrells — Google review

Amazing views of the area from the fortress. We would have loved to have a bite at one of the restaurants as the views from the tables were stunning especially on such a beautiful when we were there. There are a number of attractions to see in the fortress, some for additional cost. It is worth the time to make your way up.

Bill Lakie — Google review

This castle is amazing and so large! On a rainy day, it is still a great option as an ax activity for the day. There are so many museums inside. I would also highly recommend walking the Panorama Tour at the top for a beautiful view of Salzburg. Paying for the Basic ticket to take the funicular to the top, walk the panorama tour, was highly worth it even on a rainy day!

kelly schofield — Google review

This is an excellent tour with lots to offer for the price you pay to enter. The funicular up the hill is fast and fun. The fortress is in impeccable shape with several interesting museums that catalog the development and use of the fortress from medieval times through WWI. There is even a small puppet museum too. There are great views of Salzburg and the surrounding valley. We had a great time.

A must see if you're visiting Salzburg. Great for adults and kids (I took my 10 and 13 yr old). Definitely get tickets for all areas. It cost us 49 euros for a family of 4 and you get access all areas. The walk to the top of the prison tower was great! Views were amazing. The condition this fortress is in, is unbelievably good.Definitely get the funicular train to the top, it's excellent.Could do with better sign posting to help you get around better and maybe some more staff on site, so we can ask questions.Overall, a brilliant experience and well worth doing.

Andy Thorne — Google review

Lovely day out, there's a train to take to the top (and back). Amazing views from the top. We paid for all inclusive day ticket but the museums weren't that interesting inside. Absolutely beautiful castle though!

Hanna Cooper — Google review

Seeing a true middle ages castle, along with the lifestyle, customs and ruling of it is truly an amazing experience. The castle features a lot of stuff: from sightseeing at the top of the keep tower, to how peasants were imprisoned in the dungeon and how the castle was built, history around it and a museum. This has been a big dose of history for me, so for any enthusiasts out there looking to learn a bit of history during their trip, i totally recommend this place.

Andrei Oprescu — Google review

A place full of history. A castle that was never conquered. Several stages of time and many stages of tools and weapons. The view is amazing and it is very organized. You need plenty of time to see everything and it deserves. I really enjoyed and visited everything, however I haven’t read everything as this will make you spend a full day there. It is a must see place in Salzburg.

Wajdy Shalghin — Google review

What an amazing medieval castle perched above the city of Salzburg. There's a free guided walking tour in the morning for a bit of history and to get your bearings of the castle. There are many exhibitions and useful information around the castle. There's a spectacular view of the city and make sure you don't miss the organ which plays everyday at set times.

Alex — Google review

I spent €10.80 on a basic ticket. It is a "must visit" attraction if you are interested in taking photos. But if you are interested in history if the fortress, you may find a bit disappointed with the description as some of them are in German only.

Egbert Lai — Google review

We used the funicular to get up as it was a very hot day. Great views over the city and an interesting walk around the fortress. We ate at the panorama restaurant at the top of the funicular and the food was delicious. It suddenly became very, very windy just as we sat down to eat which of course, stopped not long after we finished our food!We had the Salzburg card so admission was free.

Natasha Panagiotopoulos — Google review

An imposing structure that sits proud above Salzburg. We spent a very pleasant hour ambling around the outer portions of the building. We did not try the museums as we were running late, but just walking around was interesting, and they had some fun little diversions around that the kids could try. There were some stunning views across the city to the mountains, and weaving and winding stairs and corridors. We took the funicular railway up and down (which in itself was fun) and added to the experience.

Charlie Kinloch — Google review

We visited this place on a Tuesday morning. We took the bahn to reach the fort. The entry was free because we had Salzburg card. It was not crowded in the morning, with time there was lot of people. It was an interesting place and has a great view of the city. The staff inside the place were very helpful and guided us well and also made us register for contract tracing. There is also washroom in the place which is well maintained. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

N S — Google review

Very different fortress, as big as a village itself. The carriage ride to take us to the castle on top of the mountain was a fun part itself. The original palace goes back to 370 AD. The castle has been extended and renovated many times trough history. There are magnificent royal room on top of the castle. Worth visiting for sure.

M A — Google review

It definitely exceeded my expectations. I have not been everywhere inside, but I can assure you that the castle is really big. Most of all, I was struck from different sides of the site and beautiful views. If you are interested in seeing the whole of Salzburg, then this is definitely here. Also inside there is a considerable castle courtyard.

Roman Trach — Google review

Good views and interesting history around how the castle was made. There's a funicular up and down and you pretty much need the full ticket with all the add-ons to experience the castle fully.

Manoj Sunny — Google review

The castle is very pretty, panoramic views are highlights of the tour. The history of Salzburg described well with the model demonstrations. Funicular tickets to be purchased at the start, which serves the round trip. Best to visit during morning time as the number of visitors are less, can spend around an hour or 2 exploring castle.

meghana bhatt — Google review

Must visit in Salzburg. The funicular was short but still fun. The view from the fortress is marvelous and it gives you a good perspective of the city of Salzburg. The place also has a museum, view tower and some restaurants. Overall it was a fun EXPERIENCE and educational.

Maria Rita Tan — Google review

The fortress is spectacular. It dominates the city from afar and as you get closer you realize how massive it is.Loved the ramparts walk, the museums. The view from atop is just breathtaking especially on a clear day. You can see the Alps surrounding Salzburg and a cool view on the city as well. The fenicular is included in the entry price, so you can ride down to the city after the visit.I recommend hiking up, using the trails from the north side.

Radek Dabrowski — Google review

Visited in November during the off-tourist season and enjoyed a hassle-free experience with no long wait or need for reservations. The fortress provided stunning views and was a delight to explore. Highly recommended!

Amber Calloway — Google review

Very nice castle with a lot of information and things to visit.Children will like it!Also the view from the tower is awesome. You should consider to take the train to the top and then walk down the hill. The cable train is nice.

Jens Czaja — Google review

This is a must if you're visiting Salzburg. The fortress is one of the most characteristic places in the city.It is very well preserved, with a lot of museums and rooms to visit. It also offers an amazing view above the city.I really enjoyed the many snippets and videos scattered around the place. They provided a lot of historical anecdotes and gave us some glimpses of life back in the middle ages. You can reach the fortress with a funicular or on foot. I recommend walking up there only if you have the endurance for it. The trail is quite steep at times.I also recommend booking the tickets in advance online. There are always a lot of people going there and having already the tickets drastically reduces the wait in line.

Dan — Google review

It's worth visiting this fortress. There's so much you can see here and learn more about the history of Austria. The views from the fortress are breathtaking. The entry fee is €18 per person. After you have bought the ticket, you can take the shuttle train to get to the fortress.

Marina Trencheva — Google review

Great place to visit. What they don't tell you until you climb the big hill to get there is that it costs to just get in the grounds. Its worth it just for the views though to be honest gazing over the alps especially during sunset was lovely.I would recommend a visit if in Salzburg for a stay.

Philip O'Mahony — Google review

Easy to spend 1.5-2 hours here. The views are spectacular, and museums mostly good.State Rooms: They are beautiful (particularly ceilings and walls), but I hadn’t realized there were only 3 rooms to see. Interesting but only took 5 minutes to see.Main museum: An interesting mix of general history and historical life, but found the super basic English signs to be distracting. (They sound as if they were written for 5 or 6 year olds.)Regimental Museum: An interesting 6-8 rooms on military history in Salzburg given the regiment based there, particularly focusing on 1800-1918.Marionette museum: Two rooms with about puppets with signs in English, German, and Italian. Cute but in and out in 5 minutes.Purchasing tickets is easy either online or in person, the this ticket will need to be scanned before entering the funicular and various museums at the top.Toilets were quite clean in/near museums.Cafe: Service wasn’t great whilst waiting but nice to have option.

Becky T — Google review

This castle is beautiful enough to be said to be artistic. We can not only know the architecture of that time, but we can also know the culture of that time by seeing the castle and the building of castle. We can enjoy a meal, looking at the downtown of Salzburg from the restaurant in the castle. I recommend that you enjoy it with enough time.

Sights & Landmarks

Salzburg Cathedral is a large, ornate Baroque-style church that is known for its 5 pipe organs, medieval font where Mozart was baptized, and majestic facade. Salzburg Cathedral is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Salzburg and is located in the heart of the city.

The Salzburg Cathedral is absolutely amazing from inside and outside! This Cathedral is recognized as a World Heritage Site by Unesco. The architectural details in this building is amazing! When you are visiting this place make sure you pay attention to all the small intricate details inside the cathedral. If you are in Salzburg it's a must stop place to visit!

Vibes in this cathedral was totally different (very positive!). Prayer sung by the group added to the atmosphere. An unique mixture of art and spirituality. One of the must visit place in the Salzburg city.

Kaushal Bhatt — Google review

This cathedral is the most important church in Salzburg with seventeenth-century architecture. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to enter it if you just want to visit it when there is a religious ceremony there unless you sit in your seat until the end of the ceremony.

Öné of the nicest cathedral in the world. Amazing architecture and art. Entry is only possible with ticket, which you can by there for 5 euro, it really worth it! You can also rent an audio guide for 3 euro. You can visit the tombs in the cellar.

Tamas Bakos AC — Google review

Its marvel just simply cannot be put into words. It's beauty, solemnity, and ~1300 year old history is something you shouldn't miss while in Salzburg. There's usually a €5 conservation fee. Tours, mass with music, and other events are also available for a richer experience.

The most important place of worship in Salzburg! To access it you need to pay 5€ (it is free if you are under 18). I don't think anyway that the ticket is worth it, you can just appreciate it even from the outside, hoping that your view will be different as mine!!

Absolutely stunning building. Entry is 5 euros. Worth a visit to see the beautiful art work & masonry. My husband is a joiner of 45 yrs & commented on 1: there wasn’t alot of wood used & 2: what would there was the carvings were beautiful!

The cathedral impresses with its splendor, its acoustics, its decoration. I saw many cathedrals, this temple has a very rich decoration of walls and ceilings.

Stunning and beautiful place, the artwork throughout is wonderful. If you have an interest in architecture and/art, then visit this Cathedral. However, our second visit was to enjoy the well advertised 30 minute Midday Music session for just 6 Euros per person, and unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The idea is to demonstrate the many organs (5) culminating in the massive main organ. The religious readings far exceeded the music, and only about 10 minutes was actually played. We like HUNDREDS of others who attended did not seem that impressed. Shame, it was good while I lasted.

Consider attending a classical music concert held within the cathedral to experience the venue's remarkable acoustics.

The cathedral is beautiful, with very exquisite ceilings and an unusual four organs in the four column corners up front. The crypt is ok though not tons to see. I wish there was a little more information or history around given the €5 entry, but is still probably worth a stop if in Salzburg.

Becky T — Google review

One of the highlights of Salzburg, the cathedral is glorious although not quite in the highest tier of Catholic cathedrals. Never the less, if you're in Salzburg there is absolutely no excuse not to visit and spend the better part of an hour taking in the neoclassical splendour. The line for entry can get rather long - I popped into the nearby Franziskanerkirche for a while and came back a half hour later and it was shorter. Still, I doubt you're going to get in without some line.

Nature & Parks

Mirabell Palace is a baroque palace in the Neustadt district of Salzburg, Austria. The site is notable for its Sound of Music scenes and its gardens which feature a famous fountain decorated with the wings of Pegasus.

Just wow! This place is truly gorgeous!! I strongly believe indeed it is the most beautiful monument you can find in Salzburg! I don't know if you can access the palace itself, but even just the garden is truly spectacul! What I couldn't really understand, since you have to pay to access the other monuments in the city, this one is completely FREE...

Andrea Nori — Google review

We only briefly walked through the gardens here bit it was still quite a beautiful spot. If you've got time in Salzburg then definitely go visit, but if you're limited on time don't worry about missing it. On the plus side it's on the way to the fortress from the train station, so don't use the tram, walk through the gardens here instead, it's not a long walk.

matt knight — Google review

Even in early spring, the gardens are well cared for and beautifully maintained. The view from the palace toward the fortress is an iconic shot you must get in Salzburg. The dwarf gardens are a fun and quirky little side visit off the side of the gardens that bring out the silly in just about everyone.

Kirk Chugg — Google review

The palace garden is beautiful, and very big. There are plenty of hidden areas so make sure you don't miss anything, because it is worth it! My favourite part was a botanical room with turtles and birds in it. You'll know you're near if you hear the birds chirping.

Keira Pedersen — Google review

Lovely garden and nice views of the fortress. It would have been nice to get some more information about the palace and different buildings, but definitely recommend having lunch in one of the gardens. Just lovely to sit outside and enjoy the views.

Nina Paris — Google review

When visiting Salzburg, my wife and I first walked to the beautiful gardens, from where there is a beautiful view of the castle. The gardens are magnificent in June, when we visited them, the vegetation and flowers were beautiful. The Mirabell manor with all its outbuildings and garden monuments is on the UNESCO list as the Historic Center of the City of Salzburg.

A must see in Salzburg. An awesome park to relax, spend a lazy afternoon and try to have a sandwich/picnic while you do people watching. Expect a lot of tourist. Spend time walking around the park. It huge & has a gnome garden. If you have time watch a Mozart concert at the marble hall. It is really work it

We visited the gardens and the marble hall. It was lovely, a lot of people are sitting in the gardens reading books or having lunch. The rooms were closed for visit but the statues in the marble hall were impressive.

Nice free garden you can walk around. Very well kept, but smaller than I expected. We couldn’t visit the marble salon on the 1st floor as it was closed. It makes for a good walk towards the city center.

Beautiful and the place where the sound of Music is shot but just a little bit. The gnome garden is nice. And as is consistent with other places in Austria the garden is very beautiful and tastefully decorated.

Castle

Sights & Landmarks

The Herrenchiemsee New Palace is a grand structure located on the island of Herreninsel in Bavaria. Built in 1878 and modeled after the Versailles palace, it was created as a tribute to absolutist monarchy. Ludwig II, its founder, spent very little time here and made it more as an expression of his romantic ideas and imagination than as a residence. The palace's design reflects Ludwigs' obsessions with romanticism while being typical of his creations.

It was a very beautiful environment, quiet nomatter the population. The Kids are So happy going to see the King's bedroom ☺️, unfortunately i couldn't go in because my other two Kids aren't up to 5yrs i stayed out and it was so much fun staying out too.

Visit here around end of july 2022. Beautiful palace and gardens, 25 min walk or 15 min horse drawn carriage ride from boat. Museum for Ludwig II inside the palace. Also a nice restaurant. I love the castle and it’s worth visiting. Even just walking around outside in the park is amazing. The walk from the ferry dock was not strenuous but on a warm day could leave one sweating. There is an ice cream stand near the end of the trail for those needing a cool indulgence. The palace is rich with history, you will enjoy it with a guided tour. The cafe offers varieties of drinks with limited food selection. The fountains in front of the palace and sculptures in and around the palace are impressive and you can stand and admire for longer time.

STG — Google review

A breathtaking incomplete palace constructed by Ludwig the second in the middle of a scenic lake. I highly recommend paying the 3€ for the carriage ride from the ferry, it really added to the whole experience of arriving at the gardens

Liz Kitura — Google review

Forbidden to take photos inside the place. The guided tour takes 40 min, and it is nice. The journey from the train station to the place can be done by a nostalgic train, and a boat. Tickets are sold near the train station

Halil İbrahim Bayrak — Google review

This palace cost more than all the other King Ludwig castles. It’s worth seeing.Catch the early ferry as you need a 20-30 minute walk to the castle in the island.Cafe at the castle for breakfast or lunch.

Luc Harmsen — Google review

Very nice place to visit unfortunately we didn't go inside, instead we walked around the island with our daughter(10y). We saw different animals like birds and horses. :)

Valter Guerreiro — Google review

The palace is rich in history, you will enjoy it with a guided tour. The cafe offers an assortment of drinks with limited food selection. The fountains in front of the palace, the statues in and around the palace are impressive and you can stand and admire them longer.

Another gorgeous Palace in Germany. Stopped here for a few hours on the way through, and enjoyed the tour. Cheesecake and coffee from the Cafe were great. No photos or videos allowed inside the building.

Nathan Scott — Google review

Awesome palace, guided tour of palace available for € 10 in Deutsche and English.Tour lasts about 40 minutes. From the ticket counters it takes good 15-20 minutes walk to reach the palace and horse carriage service is also available for € 3.5 to reach palace, from Ticket counter.Over all a good experience.

RAMPRASAD SRINIVASAN — Google review

They say the journey is more exciting than the destination, Neues Schloss Herrenchiemsee is an ideal example. It starts with a boat ride beside Chiemsee Lake with crystal blue water. You can take your boat to reach the destination and enjoy the scenic view of a dream house and the islands inside the lake. Once you reach the castle don't get astounded by the beautiful sculptures and exquisite rooms built by King Ludwig 2. Take a ticket to roam inside the castle under guidance and explore the museum inside the same building. Behind the castle, a green lawn bounded by trees narrows down towards the sea assembling an aesthetic view.

The island is great. Lots of alleys for a walk in the nature. You can spot deers. The palace is the highlight of the visit. It is very well maintained. The rooms are fantastic. It is very sad that Ludwig didn't managed to finish all of them. You should definitely visit it. They have a translated leaflet for all languages.

Rusi Petrov — Google review

Boat return ticket to the island is 10€ per person or 27€ for the family of four. Additionally, the castle ticket which you can buy on the island is 10€ per person for a guided tour. It was all worth it as the place and the surroundings are incredible. There is a café and a restaurant inside the castle to have a break after the tour.

Boris Maric — Google review

Great place to visit for a few hours to see the palace and the grounds or a full day if you also want to stroll around the island. The ferry ride to and from the island is decently quick, and the palace tour, which we did not do, is around 40 minutes or so. The grounds are beautifully maintained and peaceful, and the fountains run on a timer about every 15 or so minutes, so it is worth taking your time to enjoy the scenery.

Christopher Hall — Google review

One day is not enough if you want to combine it with a big walk. We will definitely go again because we want to enjoy and relax around Herrenkimsee, for the other island another trip😆 Check how long the museum tickets are valid and don't throw them away, and visit the island when the fountains are working, it's probably very beautiful

Rumyana Lazarova — Google review

We walk round trip from docks to the palace, not that far, could enjoy the surroundings. The palace is beautiful as like as the Versailles palace in Paris France, ashamed that they not allowed recording any video or photos inside the palace. Worth it and I love it.

Tinsel Rose — Google review

I was the only visitor at that time as it was late in the evening. So, I got the opportunity to explore the place by myself with a tour guide. It was amazing experience to go through the place and learn about how he got broke and the palace remain incomplete 😂

Sajana Shrestha — Google review

So much recommended, the best ever visited castle. It even beats the Versailles in Paris. So beautiful to visit the outside and the inside. For students it’s only 9€ and for adults in general 10€. So worth the price. To reach the island you can buy a ticket on the boat for 10.50 €

✨✨✨Cheimsee!!!! AKA…”The Bavarian Sea” …a really amazing surprize to find a truly enormous and lovely lake in the middle of that beautiful mountainous region…so nice to take a hike along its shores…whether in summer …or mid winter as the attached photo of me depicts…always so nice to take a ferry to visit the astounding and gorgeous HERRENCHIEMSEE PALACE…situated on an isle within the lake …commissioned and built by Ludwig of Bavaria …it gives Versailles ( apparently in some ways its inspiration) a run for its money …note when in this beautiful hood…makes sense to take a side trip to also see the fabulous NEU SCHWANSTEIN ( the inspiration for the Walt Disney castle btw)…yet another simply fabulous structure that Ludwig built …and which now continues to delight and amaze all who visit 💯🙏🏻👍🏻☺️✨✨✨

Tegernsee is surrounded by mountains which makes the view even more beautiful. Perfect for holidays / day trip from Munich.

Amy — Google review

Tegernsee is one of the most beautiful lakes and even places, I have ever seen and been to!!Small lake and town near to Munich, less than 2 hours by car and also you can get there with train very comfortably, during pandamic all the shops in a small town are close but there are many small local shops for dining and decorative stuffs. But we enjoy sightseeing, hiking, relaxing and we were lucky because it was sunny that day and it helped us to enjoy more.Definitely I will come back and stay there for couple of days in hotel, one fay was not enough for me !!

Nima Maloumi — Google review

A beautiful lake with a mountain background is totally mesmerizing and peaceful. They offer a full round cruise ride which is 90 mins long , you can definitely spend half a day here

The Tegernsee is a Zungenbecken lake in the Bavarian Alps in southern Germany. The lake is the centre of a popular recreation area 50 kilometres (31 mi) south-east of Munich. Resorts on the lake include the eponymous Tegernsee, as well as Bad Wiessee, Kreuth, Gmund, and Rottach-Egern.

Stadium

Sights & Landmarks

The Allianz Arena is the home stadium of Bayern Munich and has a capacity of 75,000. The stadium features a magnificent backlighting that changes color constantly, as well as a museum with all of Bayern Munich's won trophies.

Visited for the NFL 2022 Munich game. The stadium is stunning and the service was top class.Queues were managed really well and there was never a huge wait for anything. Getting in was easy but security was also thorough which is good. The bag drop process was really smooth and quick, both upon entry and leaving.Staff were super friendly and spoke many different languages to cater to all.The food was gorgeous and the prices were reasonable for stadium prices. Will definitely visit again!

Louise S — Google review

I took the tour and then went into the museum. As a football fan I had always wanted to go to this stadium. The guide was very clear, he took us to the most important places, and answered every question that people did. The experience was great, however as they were fixing/preparing the grass, it was impossible to appreciate the soccer field in a 100%. I recommend to visit it during the season, and during the afternoon/night, when the stadium coverage is on (mainly red).

Ivan Rivera — Google review

A must visit if you are visiting Munich. Will advise to buy tickets in advance if you want to see full Arena in tour. Very amazingly made. All facilities are worth seeing. We missed seeing the night when the Arena gets lit up but still we enjoyed seeing it. A must must visit for sure.

Rekha Thaker — Google review

Great stadium. The tour and museum are fantastic full of history. Tickets aren't too expensive really great value. Definitely recommend a visit when visiting Munich

Tom Strogen — Google review

It's a legendary place, we just wanted to enter the stadium and see it, but the packages are not only entered into the stadium; There are only two museum tours or museum+stada entrance. I can't say that the prices are extremely affordable, but when we went, they were on sale sometimes, but beware, they may be closed on some days. Other than that it's beautiful.

Raffael Torsch — Google review

Good location just next to U6 subway but also not a lot around as a city, such as touristic activities. Most people visit here and that's all that's around the area (compared to many other parts of Munich city).Entry fee isn't bad, and there's a museum to explore and appreciate trophies, or even buy a jersey. Not a bad experience but niether great except you're here as football enthusiast.

Samuel Stephen — Google review

Amazing stadium, the entirety of the place is truly great, from the U-bahn station created solely for the stadium, the views. Every part of it is amazing, the tour through the inside was great and being able to have a little more insight on what the players see before a match is amazing.

Sofia — Google review

Good overall, the stadium is a little lacking compared to others I've done. Be good if you're a die hard but think the museum is worth it. Very easy to get to and back into the city thanks you the great rail network of Munich

Shane Kennedy — Google review

Before the game ⚽, a trip to the Paulaner Fantreff is an absolute must. The folders and service staff were very friendly and helpful. We were absolutely thrilled! The game was fantastic took a little time to upload the review 😐. So sorry for that.

Aakash Christ — Google review

Always like to see a place like this. Even I came quite late for the tour and outside was nearly to a heavy storm but no doubt that this place is great to visit.Definitely one more reason why to come back and enjoy the atmosphere of full stadium during a game. Even as a fan of different club that will be a great experience to see it on my own💪

Ales Tvrdy — Google review

cool architecture, many photo worthy moments to capture. a nice big merchandise shop that sells soooo many things and the arena was cool too. i also went to the museum which was not too bad, good for adults and kids.need not spend too much time here, travelling takes more time than anything

lejon_ — Google review

Amazing stadium and an awesome experience with the tour guide! The stadium is just stunning and the museum speaks volumes of the achievements of Bayern Munich over the years.Definitely recommend for a football (or a non football fan 😋) to visit the stadium with the tour.

Rahul R — Google review

A really great experience for all soccer lovers. We got a guided tour of the stadium that gives you access to places like players locker room, the court and the players bench. The museum is rich with information and trophies (a lot of these!)The kids had a great time. The tour is very affordable !

asaf fishelevitz — Google review

During our visit to the Alianz Arena and FC Bayern museum, we couldn't help but notice a pile of trash right at the entrance from the parking lot. It was a bit off-putting, considering the reputation of the venue. Additionally, after purchasing our tickets, we encountered a challenge as there was no one available to provide further information in English. This language barrier was a bit frustrating. On a positive note, the stadium itself was impressive, and the museum offered a decent experience. However, there was something lacking in the overall atmosphere. Perhaps more friendly and smiling faces among the staff or additional elements to enhance the visitor experience would have made a significant difference. In the end, the visit fell short of our expectations, leaving room for improvement in certain aspects of the overall environment.

The English Garden is an expansive urban park in Munich, constructed in the 18th century. Spanning a vast area of 375 hectares (927 acres), it offers a multitude of activities for visitors to enjoy throughout the year. Surrounded by several neighborhoods and running alongside the river, this park boasts an impressive network of 78km (50 miles) cycling and jogging trails. Its natural beauty is enhanced by carefully designed landscapes, providing both excitement and comfort to visitors.

This place is just wow, scenic place with lot of places to admire the nature. You can either walk, cycle inside the park, kids will. Enjoy the vast open space to play. There is a place at entrance where people surf on the water flow. You need at least half day to roam around the Garden to enjoy it completely

It’s great to have 900 acres garden right in the middle of a big city. It had water body, green lawns, forest feeling, beer hall for 7000 people, peaceful pathways, river and on top of it surfing. It was amazing. Not to missed in Munich !!

One of the best places in Munich to do any kind of outdoor activities. The popular English Garden has beautiful landscapes as well several facilities to do recreational activities including walking, running, playing games, cycling, surfing, having beer, gluwein and many more. It is also beautiful and charming even in winter.

Maheswari Adriana — Google review

The huge and lovely English Garden in Munich is a great place to visit, whether it's sunny or cloudy. On sunny days, you can enjoy outdoor activities like surfing with a lot of people around. But if you prefer a quieter garden experience, it's even more charming on cloudy days.

Shraddha Thanki — Google review

What an amazing park in the middle of the city. We went when the weather was perfect - slight drizzle which made everything seem greener and smell amazing!Had a lovely time walking around and enjoying the fresh air. Wish we could've spent more time in this amazing garden.

Prakhar Srivastav — Google review

A place to visit when in Munich. The English Garden is the largest city park in the world, very peaceful, has many walking paths, places to sit and have a picnic or stop at the Chinese Tower where you can buy delicious food and drinks. Don't miss the unique surfing on the river Eisbah in the English Garden.

Vlatko Tadic — Google review

Beautiful place but due to the winter season it was very grayish and of course the water was frozen. It should one of the most green/colorful place during summer and autumn.

Sara mounata — Google review

Huge, close to town, and beautiful. You can swim, enjoy a crate of beer there, sunbathe, even surf. It does get very crowded on summer afternoons, so perhaps come in the morning from April-August. There’s plenty of shade by the sides and a couple of beer gardens for a bite and a drink. Police regularly has a presence in the area.

Morph — Google review

So pretty. Free entrance and so much to do and enjoy. Volley ball , swim, tan , bike , surf. It’s really an incredible park

Alexann Keppie — Google review

One of my favorites spots in Munich.During summer is full of people and you can do many activities there. To play volleyball you need your own nett but eventually you also can ask to join others team. You can swim and do the famous and traditional jump from the bridge at Isar. I always go with my friends, but sometimes after work I go there just to relax, feel some sun and read my book.

Mirian Heerdt — Google review

Such a beautiful place to visit to see all the locals and tourists out and about, there is something for everyone. I spent a good 5/6hrs just wandering around, checking out the surfers, live music and seeing the sites. Def worth a visit

peaceful in every way. You can reach Munich through forests and along the river without hearing the sound of cars. There are also grill zone and sunbathing areas.

Konuralp Tevfik Bozdag — Google review

This place has a large grass area, you can chit chat with your friends, play voleyball, sometimes even swim. There are a lot of people on weekends it is jam packed but still fun tho. Oh and you can watch surfers surf against the stream, pretty cool.

Efekan KATI — Google review

Definitely a park to visit when in Munich. The English garden is very peaceful, there are many walking trails, places to sit and have a picnic or stop at the Chinese Tower where you can purchase delicious food and drinks. Don't miss the area where the river surfing 🌊 takes place. Usually 10 or more surfers line up to get their turn. All ages, young and old! We were here at the end of September 2023. Beautiful weather and really enjoyed our stroll though the park. There are maps to help you not get lost, as the park is quite large. Many tours go to the English garden, biking tours, walking tours and we ever saw horseback riding (but not sure if that was a tour). Most of the trails we were on were paved and wide. Enjoy!

Eva Munch — Google review

This may have actually been my favorite place in Munich. Right in the middle of the city is a huge park. Luckily our hotel was right next to the park. I went for a run and/or walk every day in the park. There are so many trails that only was able to get to a small portion of the park, but it seemed very safe and it was so green with lots of rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. There are also Reataurants/Beer gardens spread throughout the park.

Eli Slesk — Google review

An amazing park in the heart of Munich. The park is huge and finishing without a break in a one day is really hard, impossible for me :DThere are different section in this park and even you can pass by bus as well.

Museums

Science museum

The German Museum of Masterpieces of Science and Technology is a vast museum that showcases original artifacts and interactive displays on energy, transportation, and astronomy. It holds the title of being the largest technology museum globally, spanning over 50,000 square meters and exhibiting around 28,000 objects. The museum offers a unique experience as it combines traditional exhibits with hands-on activities such as demonstrations, experiments, and media stations. Visitors can engage with various subjects ranging from agriculture to photography to space technology.

We worked our way through the museum, from the top floor (space) down to the basem*nt (mining), and it is clear where the museum has spent money and where it is in sad need of attention. This is a very big museum where you can spend more than 1 day if you wanted to! The museum has thousands of objects on display, all aimed at science and technology. It includes several different floors and different themes throughout the building. Totally recommended if you’re into science or technology related things!

Pamela Meindl — Google review

The amount of detail that is put into this place is amazing. You can find out anything about technology, from microchips, cameras/photography, to modern stuff like robotics and space shuttles. I would suggest arming yourself with a bag of popcorn, a big cola, 6 hours of free time and a lot of patience to have a great experience.

Andrei Oprescu — Google review

Amazing place if you are here to learn. The museum has almost everything science and technology from robotics to encryption and everything in between! You can spend weeks and months here without getting bored! There are also live demonstrations every hour during weekend (only in German though)!Would highly recommend to visit this place!

Harry — Google review

Great place, lots of fun. There are 6 different levels, takes a ton of time to visit them all. Friendly note: 5-6PM you can get in for free. I know it's far from sufficient to go through everything, but it's at least something.

ukLz — Google review

Definitely a museum that deserves 5 stars. It explains very well what civilization is. There are many places to visit in different branches. It's a great place for kids too. There are very nice activities and applications that they can try and do. 14 euros per person. There is a family discount. I would recommend it to everyone.

Niels Reed — Google review

Really cool place of you love engineering. It os a very visual experience and there are a lot of things to explain here. It doesn't feel like it is a place dedicated for kids so adults can also have fun in their knowledge exploration. There is a lot of information and it is really well designed but I strongly recommend choosing a section sticking to it and enjoy on part of the museum as there is too much to see. Each section really delves into details and it will be impossible to grasp everything in one go.

Stefan Tudor — Google review

This is a really cool museum with plenty to see, also a very big variation. Everything from airplanes to harvest equipment. A very interesting museum, but it is very crowded usually with a lot of school classes visiting it and generally a very long queue to the entrance, but if you are interested in technology it is totally worth the waiting time.

Joseph Z — Google review

Best science museum in the world.Magnificently curated with diversity of topics, but most of them treated with a great deal of thoroughness.Plenty of interactive examples and representations of scientific concepts as well as history of scientific discoveries.Access is pretty easy. There is a downloadable museum app that is like nothing I have ever seem before.

Juan Uribe — Google review

A very big museum with a lot of interesting things! There's a lot of expositions where you can interact with it, and for me that's a most have for a museum about technology. The price is a little bit expensive (14 euros for adults) but there are some discounts ( 4,5 euros for students). What confuses me is that the minimum payment by credit card is 20 euros... That's really not convenient for tourists

El Walid Kadura — Google review

A lot of exhibits, various things and a lot to learn. The museum is very well organized, many interactive items, several places where you can have a quick snack, drink a cofee or a beer. If you plan to visit it reserve at least 4 hours from your time to do that.I strongly recommend visiting this place!

Eusebiu Barbulescu — Google review

One of the most entertaining museums I’ve ever visited. There are numerous exhibits that facilitate learning. I recommend planning to spend the entire day there. It is definitely worth visiting multiple times. There is a special room where only adults accompanied by children are allowed; you cannot enter without a child.

Ольга Демидова — Google review

It takes a long time to buy tickets, because many school students go there together. It's better to set aside a day to visit the museum. Personally, I feel that this museum is very suitable for scientific enlightenment. It has a basic and comprehensive display of agricultural science, technology, music, aviation and industry.

1 2 — Google review

This is a HUGE museum, so don’t expect to see it all in one day, but it truly has so much to offer adults and kids. The exhibits are extremely educational and well-curated, and the location is great as well. You can go for a stroll along the Isar afterwards! They also have a restaurant with a rooftop terrace which gets pretty crowded on nice days, but it’s a great atmosphere!

Angie Ann — Google review

Possibly the best museum I have ever been to. Ranging from aircraft to an entire section on suspension bridges. As well as model railways, scientific discoveries, musical instruments — you name it. You definitely need a full day to see it all — if not multiple days! I particularly liked how the pendulum from the outside clock tower hangs all the way down the central staircase to the ground floor, where you can watch it swinging.

Cian Tempest — Google review

As the bigger part of the museum is under renovation until 2028, there is a new part of the museum that is still accessible. The ticket costs 15€. I loved the quantum physics section, satellites, and optical instruments. Other sections are bridges, farming, medicine and musical instruments. More sections such as microbiology are still under construction. Can easily spend 4 hours here. Not suitable for children as the topics are quite complicated.

Great experience in well designed technological experience covering wide range of scientific areas. Live demo on various topics throughout the days. Hands-on workshops for children. Variety of options for snacks. One can spend the entire day there.

Plaza

Sights & Landmarks

Marienplatz, the vibrant heart of Munich, serves as a central gathering place for locals and tourists alike. This city-center square and transport hub is home to St. Peter's church, two town halls, and a toy museum. It is renowned for its iconic New Town Hall and the Mariensaule column dedicated to St. Mary.

A great location in Munich with countless places to shop, eat, and relax. The central square is also so large and distinct that it’s a helpful landmark for those of us visiting from out of country, and for meeting up with friends. The architecture is beautiful. The atmosphere is bustling. We had some great times, and great food here.Overall: key location and we will return when we are next in Munich.

David Urquhart — Google review

An amazing clock tower with so much ornate detail. It was very busy even on Monday, I would recommend you go on a weekday. The clock rings 3 times a day in the summer. 2 in the winter. Amazing sight to see nonetheless.

Cole Wright — Google review

A nice central plaza that lies in the heart if the city connecting between its main streets and shopping malls. You can sit there for the whole day enjoying the traditional bakery and watching the freelancer artists doing their musical performance. Got money to waste ? You can do all your shopping from the near by shops. Apple is by the corner😍.

Ahmed Reda Donia — Google review

Main square. Very beautiful architecture, with non-standard design of balconies and stained glass windows. Each part of the buildings is unique in its own way. When you stand on this square, you temporarily forget that today is the 21st century - the surrounding environment takes you to the Middle Ages, the time of knights. This square is truly the historical center of Munich.

Diana — Google review

Very busy town square in the centre of Old Town bustling with people performing, sitting, having coffees and mingling. Very beautifully designed buildings, clock towers, etc. You can go to one of the towers to watch bird's eye view of surrounding area. There's many stores selling branded goods around the area.

Noorzidah M N — Google review

A perfect place that offers many different options to enjoy a nice beer in the outdoors. I loved the architecture there, the place is so beautiful and it is surrounded by many other wonderful places such as cathedrals, restaurants, emblematic buildings and other spots just waiting to be discovered by us!

Yorkys Alejandra Julca — Google review

Very beautiful place. To enjoy it the most i would suggest to visit it during the sunrise on a weekday when there are no crowds of people since it's extremely popular. Fantastic architecture, literally must visit for every tourist in Munich.

Alex Rybkovsky — Google review

The old city center of Munich is a place you can sit, stand, watch for hours with ornate detail and people watching.Sadly we missed the final Glockenspiel show of the day (17:00) but there were plenty of other bells to enjoy throughout the hour.

Tom Coomes — Google review

This place is incredible, you could stare at this building all day and still not see all the details. We went back to see the glockenspiel, at 5pm. The building could not be any more impressive. The performances in the square were entertaining too. It's definitely a spot you don't want to miss if you are in Munich. The train will take you directly there if you aren't in walking distance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby.

Amber Doran — Google review

This town square is a must visit in Munich. The architecture is simply gorgeous, with its unique balconies and windows designs/colors. There are many street stalls selling foods and drinks, souvenirs and branded stuff. Also, numerous street artists were performing when we were there. This further adds to the colorfulness and character of the area. The design makes us forget that we are in the modern days and takes us back to many centuries ago. There are lots to see, shop, eats for every taste and individual, from beer markets to restaurants. Our family of 4 enjoyed ourselves thoroughly here. Pity we were here on a day trip only. Will come back if we have the chance.

Seah Shao Jun Nigel — Google review

Beautiful place, crowded but lots of shops and pigeons. I recommend visiting. The glockenspiel show isn't anything impressive. I recommend taking the elevator for a few euro up the town hall and seeing a view of Munich.

Andy Ivanov — Google review

Awesome city centre in Munich. The city square is always vibrant with a lot going on. Adjoining streets are also highly interesting. A great place for shopping and dining. Also a fabulous place just for taking in the energy and sights without having to spend a single cent.

Bren Wang — Google review

Just perfect for enjoying your beer out in the open, there are many bars or cafe around. And of course… the expensive shopping nearby. Any brand you can think of, you will find it here.

Wonderful Square in center of Munich. Been here 4 years ago and it is always a pleasure to be on this historical place! Many shops, nice eateries, souvenirs, just enjoy and take a walk through the city center of Munich!

Vedran ?oti? — Google review

The square serves as the heart of the city, bustling with activity and surrounded by historic landmarks. The centerpiece of Marienplatz is the awe-inspiring New Town Hall. Its towering spires and intricate Gothic design took my breath away. Watching the famous Glockenspiel come to life was a true delight. The square is filled with charming shops, cafes, and restaurants that lined its edges. From traditional Bavarian clothing stores to contemporary boutiques, there was something for every taste.Marienplatz square in Munich truly captured the essence of the city. Its historic charm, lively atmosphere, and central location make it an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a history buff, a shopaholic, a food enthusiast, or simply seeking an authentic Bavarian experience, Marienplatz square has it all.

Heart of the Munich City. Every person visiting this beautiful city must have visited or passed through the Marienplatz.. city center of Munich. Most of the household items and all the shops are found here. Always a crowded place. It is definitely a safe place even though it's crowded. People are nice, they just care their own business. Place for all the young people to vibe around and spend nice time with the closed ones. Great place to pass time. Looks very beautiful during the spring 🌼 and summer 🌞⛱️ season. Nice tulips flowers 🌺🌹 are planted in this place.. everyday show time for the bell ringing amazes people and keeps them wait there and watch the show for few minutes.. no tickets and entrance fee are required. A lot of souvenir shops are found in this place .. highfi city area. Have fun visiting Munich Marienplatz.

Karthikeyan S — Google review

A nice place in the center of city with beautiful and amazing central location in Munich. The architecture is beautifully done. the central square is spacious and you can have a walk around old historical buildings as well as observe monuments around. They worth taking pictures of.The main reason people love to visit here is its atmosphere at the time of ticking clock tower with dancing dolls. It has couple of very tall towers from where you can have breathtaking views of Munich city. It’s a crowded place because main shopping street next to it. A lots of shopping stores, cafes & restaurants around for quick shopping or grabbing a quick bite.Don’t drive there because parking is bite far but best traveling by subway. If you are planning to visit Munich, this place is a must visit.

Great views, lots to see, shop, eats for every preference. We had a blast walking all over this area. Loved the market too. Fresh everything. Beautiful place to spend time and learn bits of Munich.

christine alvarado — Google review

It's an absolutely beautiful building. The clock tower rings out, high above the other buildings and through the streets. The figures dance around on a carousel. There are statues and dragons and works of stone from a very long time ago. Many people gather around, taking photos and videos as it chimes. Inside has some interesting features, like gargoyles and spiral staircase, more statues and some doors to walk through. Check it out.

Marienplatz is one of it's kind. The best thing is every time I visit here the weather is different, the vibe is all together different and mostly the historic charm blends so nicely into this free modern culture. Do enjoy the pics posted here from all season visits.

Layover tour while transiting through Munich. I had 5.5 hours and easily took the train to Marienplatz, walked a couple of hours and back to the airport in time. Unfortunately I arrived into Marienplatz a bit too early and nothing really opens until 11am. But I enjoyed the square less busy on a crisp spring morning.

The lively, bustling heart of Munich with picture perfect views of the town hall as well as the surrounding architecture. Easy to access through public transport, or just by walking. Plenty of shopping and dining options, though the former becomes limited on Sundays.

Marienplatz in Munich is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling to this beautiful city! The centerpiece of this historic square is the Glockenspiel, located in the tower of the New Town Hall. It’s truly a remarkable sight and a highlight for any visitor.Every day, as the clock chimes, you can witness the enchanting performance of the Glockenspiel. This delightful mechanical show reenacts two stories from the 16th century with figures that dance, joust, and move, all set to beautiful music. The craftsmanship and detail are stunning, and it captivates audiences of all ages.Beyond the Glockenspiel, Marienplatz itself offers a vibrant atmosphere with its gorgeous architecture, bustling cafes, and shops. It’s a wonderful place to stroll, shop, and soak in the Munich culture.I highly recommend spending some time here, especially to catch the Glockenspiel show. It’s not just a treat for the eyes and ears but also a heartwarming glimpse into Bavarian history and tradition!

The BMW Museum, located in Munich, is a cutting-edge steel museum that showcases engines, designs, and vintage as well as modern cars from the beloved brand. With its unique bowl-shaped design, it is a must-see for car enthusiasts. The spacious museum houses a wide range of antique cars and motorcycles that were rarely seen in BMW's early days. Spanning 5,000 square meters, it offers visitors an extensive collection of products to explore and can easily occupy half a day.

One of the best organized museums I've visited in recent history. Every part of it is informative, provides tons of insight on each particular topic.. There are even interactive screens where you can learn more certain engines, car models, and so on... The staff is also very pleasant and helpful towards the visitors, there is shop and bistro at the extension of the museum. Either way, very well spent time. It's a must-go destination in Munich, especially if you're a huge automobile enthusiast.

The BMW Museum in Munich is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and anyone interested in engineering and design. I visited the museum and was impressed by the vast collection of car models on display. From classic models to the latest releases, the museum has something for everyone. One thing that stood out to me was the knowledgeable staff, who were always available to answer questions and offer insights into the history and technology behind the cars. Their enthusiasm for the subject matter was infectious and added to the overall experience. The building itself is a work of art, with a modern design that blends seamlessly with the surrounding architecture. The museum is well-lit, spacious, and well-organized, making it easy to navigate and appreciate the exhibits. The exhibitions were particularly interesting, providing a glimpse into the evolution of BMW over the years. The displays are interactive and engaging, offering visitors the chance to learn about the technology and innovations that have made BMW a leading car brand.Overall, I would highly recommend a visit to the BMW Museum in Munich. The collection of cars and exhibits, combined with the modern building design and knowledgeable staff, make for a memorable and enjoyable experience.

The museum is excellent, a huge number of specimens. All years and eras of production. There were no queues to enter. Lots of motorcycles, cars, engines, car frames. A walk of 3 hours or more.. Very interesting and impressive.

Absolutely magnificent museum. It is carefully curated and all the areas give some sense of the history of BMW, and for fans and just curious people alike, it is thoroughly recommended. We only spent one hour and a half there, because they closed at 18:00. But I feel like it would take maybe 2-3h to see the Museum perfectly, understanding everything so beautifully displayed there.

I’m not a big fan of cars, so BMW WELT/world is enough for me. It’s free entry (vs. 10euro for BMW museum). The venue and display was set up in an very aesthetic way brought in a pleasant experience. Also u get brilliant view of the BMW “four engine” & “super bowl” building at 2nd floor exit

Alex H. — Google review

Building looks cool from the outside and the museum design and path are really good, some nice voice features I've never seen before. Some of the bike areas empty but all cars and engine(mostly Formula and planes) sections are great(especially the f1 and and the touring racing). Price is reasonable for 1.5h - 2h museum.

Nice museum to visit if you like automotive. Displays some of the historic cars, motorcycles, and products of BMW. The museum walks you through the history of BMW and their values. You get to see pieces from history and the modern ones too.Plan to spend 2-3 hours here. No line when we visited in December. Conveniently located by a train stop.

Amazing museum to visit. The BMW Welt is connected to the BMW Museum by a pedestrian bridge. The BMW Welt is free to visit , but the BMW museum costs 10 euros. It worth every penny. The museum is dome shaped and the welt is four cylinder building. Many amazing cars and bikes to see. The factory tour was one of my favorites. We got to see how different parts are made.

Every enthusiasts dream place but as much as it was interesting and had some good cars/bikes it sort of lacked my expectations.I wanted more, more M cars, Alpinas, maybe even a car to sit in but it's all a bit bland considering. History, passion, technology and future of mobility in one place. One of the must see museums while visiting Munich. You need at least 2 hours to visit the museum, catching some live tours or explanations from the museum staff. Across the street you can visit for free the BMW showroom showcasing new models, but also having some rare exhibitions sometimes.

Amazing place. Fan boy or not this place has great history to show. All the cars at the museum are very unique and are described with great depth of detail which all the history behind the vehicles. If you are in the Munich or are at a close city I recommend visiting. A must see! Loads of gifts shops available at entrance of museum and at the BMW Welt area. Canteen has all sorts of hot and cold food so it won’t be difficult to plan your day here. It has a large car park finding space is not a struggle and it’s not expensive. Bays are large all sorts of vehicles can fit there no problem.

What an amazing experience! It was great to read about the history of BMW as well as see all the classic cars. Airplane engines, motorbikes etc. really great open space museum. Well laid out, doesn’t feel claustrophobic which is good also.

Very interesting museum to visit. Might get a bit crowded, so be prepared for that. There's also a decent cafe inside for quick snacks.Definitely would recommend a visit if your in Munich.

RICHARD — Google review

We expected more from the museum itself, where new cars and motorcycles are top notch, museums don’t provide headphones, the history and eras are completely incomprehensible, you need to take a guided tour, there at certain times. The site for purchasing online tickets does not work, the site is bad. There's a line outside, we're frozen, try buying online and you'll be invited. Not the first museum, but a completely terrible organization.

If you think the Welt is impressive, please step into the museum. Immerse yourself into the past and present plus a glimpse of the future! We spent 3.5 hours and that’s not enough! So much to read. So much to learn. Like I said, we now understand our own cars better!Even my sister, who’s a die-hard Mercedes owner, agreed that both the BMW Welt and the museum were awesome. But now, because of this museum, she wants to visit Stuttgart next, to see whether the Mercedes Museum is as impressive as this one!

An excellent museum, which you must visit if you are in Munich. Large historical collection of cars and motorcycles, marine and aircraft engines.Considering the very large number of models, it leaves you breathless, even if you are not a fan of BMW. Everything is clearly marked and if you follow the numbers, you will visit the entire museum without any problems. Since you cannot bring Russian money into the museum, they have lockers that are locked by inserting a €1 coin, which you take back later when you take your things. Tickets are only €10. Very friendly staff, who will be happy to help you with any ambiguities. We were there on Saturday, given the excellent organization, we entered without waiting. I repeat, if you are in Munich, it is really worth paying €10 to visit this museum!

The Audi Forum Ingolstadt is a museum located beside the Audi factory, showcasing a range of cars and motorcycles along with restaurants and an arthouse cinema. The tour begins on the top floor and covers the entire history of the car manufacturer, including its role during World War II. A rotating elevator featuring various Audi motorsport cars is one of the highlights of the museum. Factory tours are not part of the ticket but can be booked in advance during weekdays.

This was great to add to my collection of museum experiences. So far I've been to the BMW, Mercedes and Porsche museums so this was the cherry on top. I spent 5 hours here just like I did the others and enjoyed every moment of it. The front desk staff was helpful when I had a question regarding my rental car's refueling and parking. Did I mention the onsite restaurant is amazing? Well, believe it. It is. It wasn't your cheap restaurant menu it had a FULL buffet of healthy foods. Great way to refuel after a long day of informative adventures past and present. They have so many cars on display along with the history of the formation of Audi. That revolving elevator of cars is really cool. I'm excited to see what awaits as I got a glimpse of the future of automotive technology provided by one of the finest car manufacturers on the planet. Will I ever be able to afford one? I can't say for sure, but it's worth a try!

Not that big museum if you are expecting to see a lot of items inside (only two floors) but pretty enough for getting the first impression about Audi and its history. 2G+ is mandatory in these days.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Audi Ingolstadt facility on a midweek Wednesday, and the experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The museum, housing a remarkable collection of vintage automobiles, provided a captivating journey through the rich history of the Audi brand. Upon my visit, the museum exhibited a serene ambiance, as it was surprisingly devoid of a large crowd, enhancing the overall experience. The opportunity to explore the extensive collection of very old cars in such a tranquil setting added a unique charm to my visit. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the factory tour, which left me awe-inspired by the cutting-edge technology employed in the automotive industry. The precision and efficiency witnessed during the tour underscored Audi's commitment to excellence. The knowledgeable guides provided insightful commentary, enriching the tour with valuable information about the manufacturing processes and technological innovations. The hospitality extended by the staff at Audi Ingolstadt further heightened the overall experience. The personnel were not only courteous but also demonstrated a genuine passion for the brand and its heritage. Their willingness to share information and answer queries contributed significantly to the positive atmosphere surrounding the visit.I wholeheartedly recommend both the museum and the factory tour to enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The combination of historic charm, state-of-the-art technology, and exceptional hospitality makes this destination a must-visit for anyone interested in the world of automobiles. Audi Ingolstadt truly exemplifies excellence in every aspect of its offerings.

The museum is next to the Audi factory. The tour starts at the top floor and it's walking through the entire history of the car manufacturer, especially the agitated period during the second world war. The highlight of the museum is a rotating elevator with different Audi motorsport cars. Factory tours are not included in the museum ticket. It's possible only during the week and booking in advance is recommended.

For an Audi enthusiast this is definitely a place to visit. It may not be a big museum but it does capture the history of the cars and surprisingly it wasn’t that busy. A few downsizes the gift shop I think is small than your average shop. If you want to do your the factory is better to book online as the tours get fill quickly. Don’t forget to present your parking card to receive free parking.

The museum is very interesting. From future to the past, from newest cars to concept cars and even the old ones. Everything is great and you can get inside even in wheelchair because there is ramp and inside is an elevator. Price for adult is only 5 euros for whole day.

Would have loved to have taken the full tour. I highly recommend booking it early so you are sure to get a spot. But just the walking tour was exceptional. Again very informative and would have loved to get the full tour experience.

Small but with a nice collection of historical and racing Audi cars and motorcycles. The people there are friendly except near the closing hour they can’t wait any minute to throw you out of the museum as well as the shop. The Avus restaurant is highly recommended—food is great and pricing is reasonable, and the service there is great.

I would recommend visiting in the end of September or later, because the first floor, where the modern automobiles are, is closed until then. There are not only automobiles, but also motorcycles and bicycles. You can also see how the different details of automobiles work. You should schedule at least two hours to spend there, however it could easily turn into 3-4 hours. The entry costs 5 euros for adults.

Average museum especially in comparison with Mercedes and BMW. But still there are enough interesting models of Audi and Horch. Makes sense to visit in case you're a fan of cars, for the rest it may be not much fun. Also there is a shop with new cars next to the museum.

Brilliant day out, would highly recommend, something for everyone.Factory tour was excellent, walking the entire production line and the gentleman giving the four rings history tour made the museum really interesting.Staff very friendly and helpful, all in all, a great experience.

Great museum, different from any other car museum with the crane that keeps turning and showing different cars. It’s easy to follow, explanstions are brief and there are some amazing cars. Unfortunatley there’s a lack of modern cars and it is a bit small in comparison to Porsche museum, for example. But it is really worth it. I recommend to check the website first, since first floor usually has temporary exhibitions and you might find it closed. I highly recommend the museum if you are in Bavaria (Bayern).

Great place to go during the summer months. The beach is great for swimming and cooling off. This is a rock “beach” Not sand. Really tough to get in and out of the water comfortably without them. There is a small town part to get ice cream, snacks and food. Definitely gets crowded when it’s hot.

Abigail Adamek — Google review

Beautiful place.... very serene atmosphere.... the lake is very scenic with a view of the Alps... It is a very short distance from Munich and has lots of cafes to hang out at.....

Shoma Naskar — Google review

Most amazing place to relax and just enjoy the natural beauty of Bavarian state. Especially summer is best place to visit Starnberg lake view is best and local stores offer you boating option and have fun with love ones or friends and best part around is local food with view of see 😍 including gift shop where you can get souvenirs to remember best moment of it. All together this place is worth visiting.

Nice place to go for a swim easy to get there by train S6 from Munich

Junaid Barakzai — Google review

My visit to Lake Starnberg in the evening was a magical experience. I hopped on the RE from Munich, and in under 20 minutes, I was there, right before sunset. The lake's vastness and depth left me in awe, and it's my go-to place for a relaxing run. The tranquility of the evenings by the lake is something I look forward to escaping the city's chaos.

Gaurav Mann — Google review

Beautiful lake and a perfect day trip. A perfect view and good restaurants are near Possenhofen which is easily reachable by public transports.

Mouna “Moejana” Ouni — Google review

Very peaceful. The lake was very calm, and there is a cafe morth of the lake if you're hungry.

Timothy Andre — Google review

The lake and the surrounding area are absolutely gorgeous, particularly in autumn. But it's also nicer on a summer day when you can actually see on the other side of the lake. The woods around are perfect for a stroll, and close to the harbour, there are many places to grab food, coffee or snacks. Very lovely if you happen to be in the area, but probably you should not go out of your way to see this place if you have other plans.

Mohamed Arab — Google review

Very nice and peaceful, especially in the early morning hours

Viktória Hadlaczki — Google review

One of the most beautiful lakes in Bavaria and indeed a great place to take a boat/cruise ride, ride or drive around it, swim in to and of course to enjoy the spectacle of the Alps visible on the southern end...The lake is surrounded by 8-9 beautiful villages.. Starnberg being the biggest and most popular of them... where the lake also gets its name from. There are many parks and bathing grounds around the entire lake too...some private some public.. though in the summers there's a problem of mosquitoes around the areas that are too green.

Monastery

Sights & Landmarks

Andechs Monastery is a hilltop pilgrimage center in southern Bavaria that was established in the 10th century. It is renowned for its Benedictine monks' famous ales, and many tourists visit to sample them. The site attracts large crowds on weekends, but its stunning beauty remains a must-see attraction. Ettal, another picturesque location nearby, offers excellent hiking opportunities with ample parking facilities.

Gorgeous church. You go to Tutzing and take bus 958 which drops you at the base of Andechs. A long incline to walk up. It has a tower that has 13 flights of steps for €1.00. Their food opens at 11:00 and they have superb Haxen. Beer is great. Get there before 12:00 or few seats left.

Anthony Cimorelli — Google review

Nice touristy place but huge crowds over the weekend. I think the Ettal looks beautiful if you hike around the place. Huge parking.

Koel Ganguly — Google review

Loved the beer and pork knuckle! We popped by on our way down from Munich to St. Anton. Will love to head back for more beer in the summer!

J K (JK) — Google review

I know some people think this place is too tourist, and mass production factory, but I enjoy it...and usually come early before the rush.Arrive well before noon, ideally 11am...that is when the restaurant opens.Share a litre beer, share a pork knuckle...they are large and sharing the cost makes it a bit better. The whole monastery is not open to the public, but the baroque style layout of the church is worth a visit. Slip into the small chapel to tge side, and say a pray of thanks.Pick a good day, even during the weekdays 80% of the tables are occupied by 12noon

Perry Poehlmann — Google review

I wish I could rate the Monastery on multiple levels, as a pilgrimage site, a brewery and a restaurant. I hope my pictures do justice to what you will see in the Monastery. A beautifu , prayerful environment. Well worth the time to visit and to refresh yourself spiritually and bodily.

Markus Gruber — Google review

Andechs Monastery was nice. Many people on Sunday. Few restaurants around. Self services and serve by waiter also available but require advance booking otherwise not even half seat available for you. But can always go to self service side. Definitely have to try their beer. Very good and smooth. Their alcohol free beer tasted like real beer and smooth. The monks did a very good job in making the beer. However the cheese made by monk is not easy to find. I couldn’t get to try one. Their pork knuckle are huge! I couldn’t finish. Have to bring another half back home. They have paper bag for you to put the food to take away if can’t finish. Their pretzel 🥨 also very big. However their potato salad don’t looks attractive but their taste very good when eat with sausage and pork knuckle.Andechs Monastery located on top of hill and they have really nice view too. Many people cycling there but also big parking place to park your car and walk up to the hill with nice things around. Like their herbs (natural pharmacy herbs), their arts..

Old charm German pub with tasty food and beer. Awesome views from the top of the Monastery tower.

Short walking feom the public parking to the top of the hill where the monestery is located, whrete the main point is the bavarian restaurant with a panoramic view over the distant meadows.

Zivko Prelogovski — Google review

lovely castle with a lot of local and traditional decoration and souvenir. the canteen is really authentic, you have to wait in line for the canteen and surprisingly you can pay with card. what is interesting is that on the back of the castle? There is a park full of sculpture, dedicated to the art and beer drinking, which represent the local drinking culture

Nathan Guo — Google review

My two friends took me here for a bike ride from Munich. It is absolutely beautiful, the food served is beyond anything you'd get in any restaurant, the beer's are great (size and taste). Next time I'm in Germany, I'll be back and of course with my trustee companions

Brian Gilligan — Google review

The place is stunning. The monastery is beautiful, very old, and surrounded by mountains. Lots of fresh air. There is a little souvenir shop with convenient prices. The restaurant, which is nearly monastery, has a beautiful view of the mountains. Food is delicious. The beer is very good👍

Tamara Radevic — Google review

Very beautiful and peaceful place. The church is amazing. Baroque style 🤩. You can easily drive to the convent using the bus (951) directly from the train station. I recommend to go early and watch the service. They also have a good german restaurant and a brewery, there you can have a beer tasting and an tour.

Michelle Cavalcante — Google review

I lived in Bavaria for five years decades ago and it was such a treat to be able to return with Bavarian friends and show Andechs to my husband and young adult children. The pretzels, obatzda (savory/tart cheese spread), and beer were delicious, it was so precious to see a service in the monastery cathedral and I found a beautiful little necklace in the giftshop.Note the famous dopple bock type of beer invented by monks centuries ago which contains all the good ingredients needed to make bread. This was introduced in beer form so the monk's Lenten time fast (the fast in the days prior to celebrating Jesus Christ's death and resurrection at Easter) would not be interrupted.Parking is free to this piece of historical Bavaria and Kloster Andechs is well worth the visit.

Ali R — Google review

Worthwhile to visit. A beautiful cathedral and restaurant. It's recommended to pay attention to the Andechser agricultural section around the monastery. Outstanding milk products in all varieties.

Gerrit Stegeman — Google review

People say this is the place to get the best beer in Germany. I definitely had my best radler here on our trip. The food was also good and is served cafeteria style. You have a choice to hike from a nearby parking lot/bus station or you can hike all the way up from the town of Herrshing. It is a slightly difficult hike uphill through forest and a little bit of meadow. If you enjoy hiking then it will be worth it to you, if it’s a hot day just take the bus.

Megan West — Google review

An absolute must if you are in the Munich area. A true highlight of our trip. It was rainy and cold when we visited so we didn't get to experience the biergartenbut inside was great too. Excellent beer and the food was one of a kind. Best meal we had the entire trip.

Christopher R. — Google review

What an interesting place to visit. Outstanding monument of architecture with beautiful ornaments inside. Beautiful architecture and awesome art work inside. You can see the tower from far as it’s tall and located at very high hill. There's a lovely hiking trail from the nearby train station in Herrsching up to the monastery, definitely recommended to get that trail because that’s really lovely walk in green area. When I was there, it was busy over the top. The beer was excellent as is all German beer, and the food was fantastic too. The Pilgrimage church is currently an active monastery so do watch thier closing times as are early due to prayer. The monastery has plenty of free parking however it's a bit of a short but steap walk from the parking.

win task — Google review

Small church with nice but windy view from the tower for just 1€. Recommended if you don't have fear of heights. The wooden steps are really small the higher you get. I heard 200 steps overall.

Fuggerei is a housing complex that has been operating for over 500 years, with a museum on-site. It has a rich history and was originally built to house those who couldn't afford their own homes. The complex is well-maintained and during the summer months, the houses are covered in lush green climbers. One of the houses is open to visitors so they can experience what life was like there in the past.

Beautiful historical place with the nice and smooth vibe.To be honest, I am not fan of museum but I am happy that I have visited this place and got some information and knowledge through visiting this place.some interesting information about Deutschland's history and about inhabitants.I definitely suggest you guys to visit this place.

majid ghazi — Google review

It's 8 euros to visit this establishment but I think it actually should have free entrance or maybe even less entrance charge...1stly non of the original buildings exist...they were all totally destroyed during world 2 bombings by the allied forces...there is a bunker that was built during WW2 with pictures of the city during those tough times...show casing the history of the city... regarding the houses themselves they are occupied by residents....there is a museum showing the patron...it's like visiting a gated community type of thing...

Devan Pulliah — Google review

Not worth the visit. 6,5€ for entering a street with nothing to do really... Yes, the houses here are hundreds of years old, but so well preserved ( and renovated) that there's nothing special to see...

Ludo Van Raemdonck — Google review

It's a very nice building complex that you better visit in the summer. Unfortunately the museums are rather mediocre and the price of the tickets are high for what is offered.

Igor — Google review

An amazing community that was started over 500 years ago to help people who wanted to work but could not afford housing. The museum detailing history is a must see, and it is a worthwhile visit for the beauty of the buildings.

Matthew Gooding — Google review

This is one of the oldest living settlements. The entry fees is €6.50 and they accept only cash. The whole area can be covered by foot and not much walk also. There is a fast food restaurant inside the settlement and WC.The history about the settlement will blow your mind and there is a house where you can watch the short movie or listen to audio. There are also museums which takes you back to 500 years.Loved our time spent here :)Visit this place has as it has very beautiful gorgeous green creepers and a lovely charm.

Vinuta Dattatraya — Google review

I visitedFuggerei, the world’s oldest public housing complex still in use. While the historical significance is undeniable, I found the€8entrance fee to be steep for what I experienced. The housing units are unique, simulating living in individual houses, but overall, it didn’t quite meet my expectations.

VISHNU PRASAD K — Google review

It's such an interesting and very beautiful place with a lot of history. I would definitely recommend this, and there is also an english translation of everything. I don't think it will be interesting for kids.

Medina Mulaosmanovic — Google review

Highly recommend if you are in Augsburg. Entry is cheap (8 euro for adult, 7 for student) and you can easily spend 1-2 hours there (wouldn't need much longer than that). It is really interesting to read about the Fuggerei and they have multiple museums within the buildings to read about the way people live, and other things like the war. There is toilets located here too.

James Seldon — Google review

A place rich with the history that goes back to 500 years. The main reason was to provide shelter to people who could not afford housing. Very well maintained and well illustrated. If you visit during the summer, then you can see the houses covered with beautiful green climbers. They still have a house open for the tourists, so that you can go and have a feel of how it was to live here during the old time. How was the lifestyle of the people in Fuggerei. They have their own small church inside the premises. There are families who still live here. You can walk through the entire area. They accept only cash at the entrance for the ticket of 6.50 Euros.

Animesh Kumar — Google review

Very interesting place! Bunkers were cool. Establishes social work in Europe and US.

Brenden Mesch — Google review

Only entrance fee of 7 Euro a bit high, but sight is a real historical sight with social background.

City Hall

Sights & Landmarks

The Augsburg Town Hall, a government building from the 17th century Renaissance era, boasts lavish halls adorned with artwork and gold. With an admission fee of only 1 euro for students, visitors can witness the historical significance of the building upon entry. Inside, ancient objects are displayed in charming rooms. Though its exterior may seem unremarkable compared to others in town, it is a must-visit attraction for those interested in history and architecture. Its stunning beauty is evident through pictures alone.

Must go inside - build outside looks like any other - but inside it’s amazing. Definitely on list to see

Kamil NOWAK — Google review

Quite a sight to behold from the outside, more so on the inside. Only a €2.50 entry fee for adults to enter the Goldener Saal (Golden Hall), which is very impressive. You can also visit a couple of informative exhibitions for free on the ground floor, including a brief history of Augsburg.

Adrian Foong — Google review

Very beautiful place and i believe the pictures speaks for themselves. If you're in Augsburg this place is definately a must to visit.

F V — Google review

One of the historical buildings in Augsburg, it was rebuilt after 60% of it being destroyed during WW2. Golden hall is absolutely worth it. The building itself welcomes both working politicians and visitors at the same time. We almost disrupted heated debate there.

Very pretty golden hall and good for pictures. The admission fees are 1 euro for students which is very affordable. Gives you nice view of the history when you enter. And nice rooms with ancient objects

built in the 1600's by Elias Holl with the late renaissance architecture. it is the icon of the city with Eagle painting on the front and the pine coat of arm on the Top. impressive architecture and the entrance is free on the Groundfloor where you can visit the war memorials and ancient relics and modules from the City.

Wow. The golden room is definitely worth visiting.Reasonable €2.5 per person to visit. This beautiful building has a hidden golden nugget inside. Literally. The golden room has over 2.7kg (5Lbs) of gold coating all over the moldings and statues. The history of this over 450 years old building is fascinating, and how it survived and was rebuilt after WW2.The staff dis knowledgeable and super helpful with any questions when visiting. They even offer a folder in English or Spanish for international visitors.

Amusem*nt park

Water & Amusem*nt Parks

Theme Parks

LEGOLAND Germany is a family-friendly amusem*nt park featuring thrilling rides and an aquarium, as well as impressive replicas of German landmarks constructed from LEGO bricks. Visitors can opt to stay at the LEGOLAND Hotels within the Holiday Village, which offers access to various amenities including restaurants, playgrounds, and a high ropes course. The park also provides opportunities for guests to observe the LEGO manufacturing process and create their own LEGO bricks. Additionally, there are water rides that offer an adrenaline rush.

Great place for whole family. Waiting time usually not more than 15 minutes (Monday beginning of July).Ticket price ok for adults and kids over the height limit, but far too expensive for smaller kids who are not allowed to most attractions, but still pay full price.Food ok, the best one we found is the City restaurant with nice buffet.

bloodstar — Google review

All of the displays were amazing, but the lines for rides were just too long. I highly recommend visiting during a week day instead of the weekend. Our toddler didn't handle the hour plus long waits for rides, so we spent most of our time walking around and checking out the different displays.

Justin O — Google review

Mostly industrial food of low to average quality. It's tapas like, so that everyone finds something matching their taste. There's more than enough, especially if you bring kids since the portions are the same for all.The steak is reconstructed. The chicken was quite tasty (that was the best of the meal in my opinion). The servers were really nice. The room is extremely noisy.

Jeremie Le Hen — Google review

Amazing place for small and big kids. The wait time for the rides is quite long so the Express pass is worth looking into. Or spend two days, there is enough to experience!

Markus Tacker — Google review

Very nice experience if you or even better your kid is a Lego fan. I imagine the experience for kids is really amazing. On the other hand, the park does lack rides that would be suitable for older visitors. All in all would recommend, but don't get your hopes up too high as the park is also not really that big.

Janez Konjar — Google review

Amusem*nt park for kids all ages starting from 5 or 6 years old. 2 days 2 night is perfect compromise to enjoy and have some rest however the park is not extremely huge so if not so many people best attractions can be tried in a shorter time...about the cost I wouldn't say that park, overnight, food is cheap but surely everything around including toilets are very clean

Matteo “Mat” Taronna — Google review

Legoland is the top attraction in case you have kids. Few tips & tricks to plan your visit well:- if you can, plan your visit during work days, avoid weekends and public holidays. Even on Monday there were many people.- Online tickets available only, please take care to buy it in advance. Parking ticket might be purchased online as well- install app for queues monitoring, attractions planning, navigation- note all rides closes 1 hr before park closing. And yes, Sealife aquarium also categorized as ride 😁Kids loved it! Diverse settings with fun rides and playgrounds. Main dining area best value to eat, especially, pizza. Take water since expensive to purchase on site. Get there early with a plan as to priorities in rides since some have longer wait times as the day progresses. I suspect summer months will have this park very crt due to its size (small).LegolandWe came here to meet friends who have older kids. I thought my one year old wouldn’t really get much from it. I was wrong! We all had a lot of fun! The duplo area is just perfect for the little ones and he absolutely loved it there! The food at the restaurant was also really good and the changing rooms are super well equipped. We’ll come back!

Mritunjay Tiwari — Google review

A great theme park with lots of activities for kids in all ages. Most of the rides are suitable for kids 6 and older, but even the older ones can find lots of fun activities. You’ll find roller coasters, water activities, 3D, maze, tea cups, food and drinks.Don’t miss the Lego mini cities- quite remarkable!Park closes at 18:00 and can be quite busy during the holidays.Make sure to download the app for navigation through the park and queue times.

asaf fishelevitz — Google review

Great place for kids. Some attractions may catch attention of parents as well. Of course every attraction is hindered by queue, sometimes 40 minutes long Large parking place nearby.

Miroslav Okrina — Google review

Had a great time there with my kid and husband, spent 1 day there and we would have needed more time. We bought the tickets in advance, about 2 months before the day.The child was able to enjoy all the attractions even though he is around 120 cm tall (for some was mandatory to have an adult with him). All the attractions were closed at 5pm.The food is not that good, just junk food.

Andreea-Georgiana Marin — Google review

We had an amazing day out at Legoland Germany. We stayed locally, the night before and spent the entire day there. We went mid October Monday, so crowds were small. It’s was epic. Could have easily filled in 2 days, but had to keep moving. The kids 13 & 8 loved it. Roller coasters were appreciated by both the kids and adults. As an adult, I’d have to say, way cooler than I expected. Way cooler.

Ben Phong Nha Embassy — Google review

LEGO land in Gunzburg is one of the best playtime for kids. You need 1 full day to cover this park.I have been just 1 week before Halloween and it was best experience for my daughter.Ticket prices are variable and better to book early. Also I suggest to book online instead waiting in Q.If your kids 3 above and looking for safe rides, then this is the first choice.

Sureshkumar Vukoti — Google review

We booked a 3-night stay 20 days ago, the price was 330EUR for a campervan place to park and 2 day tickets for 5 people. We arrived on Sunday afternoon, the holiday Village was rather full. The facilities were clean, there was also a special cleaning machine for chemical toilet. Just be careful, some people use drinking water to clean their toilet. Yuck. It took about 7 minutes to walk to Legoland through a small wood. In the morning they open at 9.45, the rides start at 10 a.m. The waiting times differ a big deal- we waited 30 minutes for the top rides, 5 minutes for others. When it started to rain on Tuesday, there were absolutely no waiting times and the kids enjoyed Maximus ride 5times in a row. If it rains and you have a raincoat, you are in for a lot of fun. Just a note - there are definitely not enough places to hide from rain. If it rains and you want to sit for a while, no chance... just 2 pizza places which are permanently full. The food was nothing special - fast food schnitzel rather bad (10 eur) chips good (6eur), waffles very good (6eur), pizza okay(10eur), popcorn good(5,50eur). Alltgether the kids were over the moon, a place to go.

Irena Herynkova — Google review

Awesome!! I highly recomand to buy tickets in advance!! My 4y and 6y were super excited. Even if we were in winter season and many attractions were closed, we barely had enough time to explore 80% of the park in ~6h

Oana M — Google review

It’s a great park if you’re a Lego fan although somehow it feels older than it is (20 years old). Rides and attractions are ok although without much capacity, meaning you need to queue a fair bunch for very short rides (2-3mins). I can’t imagine that ratio during the high-season… Most of the staff was ok and average rude, not many English speakers. Plenty of shopping opportunities. We had a great family time but it’s unlikely that we will make the trip again.

Evangelical church

Sights & Landmarks

The Ulmer Münster is a Lutheran church built in Gothic style, located in the heart of Ulm City. It boasts the world's tallest steeple at 161.53 meters high and features an impressive carved choir. The church is considered a must-visit landmark in Germany, offering visitors a glimpse into the Middle Ages with its lovely Gothic architecture.

Pictures from February, 2022.The best experience and also the most challenging is to climb the stairs to reach the viewing platform at the top of the cathedral. Narrow staircases, straight upward climbing is quite exhausting. But really worth of giving it a try. Also the view from the top is really fantastic, a mesmerizing birdeye view of Ulm.

The Ulm Minster⛪ is wonderful, when you enter it you dive into another world🌍The Münster⛪ is a church built in the Gothic style. It is the largest evangelical church in Germany. The 161.53 meter high tower completed in 1890 is the highest church tower in the world🌍. As it is a must visit if you are in Germany. And sorry for late post reviewing 😅 in 2 days I will post another one 👍☺️

Aakash Christ — Google review

If you are ever in Ulm, or passing by with a few hours for your next train connection, and if you like Gothic style buildings, you need to see this very interesting church building. If you like taking bird’s eye views, this place will interest you, but be aware, there are many steps to climb up if you want to take great pictures of the town from above. Likewise, it will take you time to get back down. The inside of the building is also marvellous with great designs and centuries old architecture. This place is close walking distance from the Ulm Hbf train station and I would recommend a tour visit and if you can, go up to the maximum point where you can take unobstructed photos.

Phil Tad — Google review

Ulm Münster left me speechless! The cathedral's size and beauty are awe-inspiring, and the panoramic views from the top of the tower are breathtaking. Knowledgeable guides added depth to the experience. A must-visit for its beauty and historical significance!

Tallest Church in the world! Lovely Gothic styled Luthern church in the Center of Ulm City. Gives a real feel of the Middle Ages. Go in for €5 without a tour. You can also make it 70 meters onto the towers via 320 stairs. Awesome place.

Amazing place because of the architecture and also the energy vibe in there. I recommend you to climb to the top and get a great view. I went on the morning and it was not busy. At the top you can find a small museum when they show you some pictures and paintings from other cathedrals. tallest church in the world, 768 steps, gothic architecture with 3 spires, amazing view at the top and many details from the inside. Ulm church is really a once in a lifetime experience. entrance 7€ tower visit and the shop sells a lot of souvenirs. its a must visit when in Germany.

A fantastic, free experience. Two organs, info person walking around, beautiful details… Parts are almost always renovated.

What a wonderful day#17Ulm city.Ulm is the birthplace of Albert Einstein. And also Ulm is a nice place..With the tallest church tower in the world, Ulm Minster is, of course, the city's most dominant building. And the Münsterplatz square on which it stands is an endlessly fascinating place that offers a great mix of history and pioneering architecture. But there is more to Ulm than this. The former Free Imperial City boasts a variety of historical attractions,#อิโตอินเลิฟ#ItoInLove

Magnificent cathedral! The gothic aspiration up to the sky is impressive. Stone lace, sculptures, ancient frescoes, paintings are simply magnificent. But the greatest impression is made by going up to the observation deck of the highest bell tower in Europe. The price is not big, 5 euros. But while you climb to the top, you will curse yourself for your blissful curiosity!😄Descent from the bell tower is another adventure!

???????? ??????? — Google review

Tallest church of Germany. The entry is free. You can get a ticket to do stairs to reach the top of it. If you are into history, it provides a lot of great stories. The interior is filled with biblical stories. Nearby there are restaurants and open spaces where you can relax.

Shoaib Bhatti — Google review

A beautiful old chapel. Definitely worth going to see. It has the most beautiful stained glass windows. Was in such a pretty setting over Christmas with the Christmas market and all the lights and decorations.

Hannah Markham — Google review

Amazing gothic church, the tallest in the world. You will see it from anywhere in Ulm, and you must enter it to enjoy the interior. The entrance (without climbing to the top) is free, and the church opens at 10AM

Nikola Kukobat — Google review

We visited this church during the Christmas markets. What a beautiful setting. The church is the tallest in the world (it is actually not a cathedral). It is stunning inside and outside. We really enjoyed our visit. Massive in size. Stunning in beauty. It is free to enter.

Michael Mack — Google review

Well we went to meet our friend who lives here during christmas and the sight of this church itself is wonderful. It shows calibre of the architect and workers as well. You can find the entire history of when and how was it built. Beautiful both inside and outside. Also you can buy ticket to go until 70m height. Its worth watching the view.

Germany Companion — Google review

Great church. A piece of art. Quite some parts are still under reconstruction. Be prepared to spend some time wondering around and enjoying many wonderful details.

Nataliia Cheban — Google review

So beautiful! Couldn't climb to the top as we were very tired but the inside was breathtaking! Definitely go during the Christmas market because it made the experience magical!

Varsha Ramgopal — Google review

Be carefully at the moment you can reach only the first level of the tower, and for 7 euros, quite expensive.View is quite nice, but not a lot to see once you reached the "top".

Lara Alabastro — Google review

The Gothic-style ancient cathedral boasts a spectacular interior with soaring ceilings and intricate sculptures. Sunlight streaming through the large stained glass windows of the nave bathes the entire space in beautiful hues, creating a serene ambiance. When the bells chime, a tranquil stillness envelops the surroundings, offering a moment of spiritual clarity.Climbing the high tower is an option, and if you have the stamina, reaching the top provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding city. Currently undergoing maintenance, access to the tower is limited, but once the restoration is complete, I look forward to returning to this place to embrace life anew.

Every year, the mayor comes out to promise to his people various stuff.I never believe his words and probably never will, because he is telling truth only 80% of the time, but the building still looks cool!

Museum

Sights & Landmarks

The Mercedes-Benz Museum is a world-renowned museum dedicated to the history of Mercedes-Benz and the car industry. Inside, visitors can see some of the brand's most iconic vehicles from the past century, as well as models from more recent times. The museum is located in a sleek metallic building with a double helix design that allows for two parallel audio-guided tours.

What a great museum! We really enjoyed all the interactive parts of the museum and getting a walk through history viewed through the lens of the inventions and innovations with motorized vehicles. It was really fascinating and we spent more time than we planned. Plus the museum design was really neat! So glad we went!!

Spring Clark — Google review

Fantastic museum!! I was impressed and it was cheaper than I expected. There were expositions from each decade since 1900. They were really really beautiful most of the car designs. The building itself was also pretty and quite impressive. Even the loft was cool.

Claudia Fern?ndez — Google review

Absolutely stunning museum designed to hugely enhance the amazing displays of historic and current Mercedes-Benz cars. We spent over two hours there and, had it not been closing time, would have stayed a lot longer. We thought the price of €12 per adult was excellent value for money and, as well as truly appreciating the sublime architecture, we were massively impressed by the world history displayed in the panels down each of the curving walkways on each floor. And to the cars! An awesome display of high quality vehicles of all types with individual plaques to explain their significance. No-one could fail to be impressed by the range, quality and descriptions for each vehicle on display. From the first historic cars to the most current Formula 1 cars, the range is quite unbelievable. The toilet, accessibility and food facilities are all top class, as is the range of items to purchase in the shop. In all, a highly recommended experience which is too good to miss if you're in Stuttgart. Thank you!

Jackie Gardner — Google review

One of the best automobile museums that I have been to (as an automotive enthusiast)! The museum was filled with not only detailed history about the car as a mode of transportation, but also world history so that one could understand the context of which the inventions or innovations were made in. Such a diverse collection of cars, iconic and legendary. 4 stars because I would have loved to see the latest cars from Mercedes-Benz. The newest ones in the museum were only concept cars from the past decade. Bit disappointed in this respect but all in all, worth the visit!

Azfar Zulkifli — Google review

Brilliant museum! I loved the mix of past and present. It truly was a journey through time. Sad I didn't get to see a mention of Bruno Sacco but still everything else was amazing!

Laert Imeri — Google review

The MERCEDES-BENZ MUSEUM was amazing! When you first arrive, you take the elevator to the top floor and walk down the spiralling path. It starts with the earliest vehicles and the vehicles get progressively newer the further down you go. The museum was well laid out with plenty of lighting. The parking garage on the backside of the museum made the visit painless and easy.

Justin O — Google review

Impressive museum! Sadly I got an audio guide with a low battery and it died in the middle of my visit. You get to keep the strap of the audio guide as a souvenir by the way.It takes around 2-3h to see everything depending on your speed. It starts with a chronological order since 1900. There is a lot of information for car enthusiasts and also for people who just want to learn more about the history of car making and the different inventions/technologies throughout the history. The design of the building itself is amazing. There are lockers and coat storage places. Toilets, which were remarkably clean, are available not only during the start/end of the museum but there is one in each level as far as I remember. At the end of the tour, some fun interactive activities are available which can also be suitable for kids, I think it was called science center or something similar. The gift shop had a very limited selection and was quite overpriced.

Ouissal Benameur — Google review

This was my first visit to the Mercedes Museum and I have to admit that I was really positively surprised. The architecture is amazing and totally fitting to the themes that are shown. Each of the eight levels tells unique stories throughout the history of Mercedes Benz. It’s easy to navigate through the museum and just beautifully made.Worth a visit! Or another one.

Christian Schu — Google review

Great place to learn about the history of Daimler and Mercedes, and a bit of Mr. Porsche. You can see many of the original classic cars to rare prototypes. It’s nice to see big companies are helping to reduce environmental impacts.

The MERCEDES-BENZ MUSEUM is amazing place with plenty of vehicles. When you first arrive, you take the elevator to the top floor and walk down the spiraling path. A well-presented and arranged museum that not only encompasses the history of Mercedes Benz but also the history of the automotive world of cars. There are many of beautiful cars, trucks,F1 cars, buses. Everything is explained really well and plenty of information about every vehicle. Few euros for a ticket is really worth. The tickets were well priced and included a free audio guide.Good restaurant to dine in after your walkabouts. ne can easily spend 4-5 hours and if you are a car enthusiast even more. The museum was well laid out with plenty of lighting. The parking garage on the backside of the museum made the visit painless and easy.

We've been there on Saturday afternoon, didn't felt crowded. Museum is HUGE! Amazing experience, would recommend it to everyone. The entry is low in comparison what you see. You can even enter in some vehicles. Employees were mostly all very friendly. We can recommend also restaurant in museum, very cosy environment, friendly staff and food was delicious. 🙌🏻

Daniela Gal — Google review

Even for non car lovers, this place is still good to visit. What more for car enthusiasts.Having gone to 2 famous car museums in Stuttgart, here’s my take for Mercedes Benz, the exhibits are informative and I like how the museum flows with time and also with other world events. You will see why the entire Mercedes Benz or (Daimler) group is so important to the history of GermanyThe gift shops are well equipped with pretty nice souvenirs to get from. There are cafes and a restaurant. There are also locker rooms and coat rooms if you are bringing bigger bags you can store them and go for your tour.Went alone and spent about 2.5 hours or so in there. Staff are helpful and friendly. This museum is more family oriented and there are 7 levels of exhibits.I enjoyed myself especially knowing the history of Germany and the company. Ever wondered the names of Daimler, Benz, Mercedes and how are they related and why is it being used interchangeably? What does the logo stands for? You will get your answer here.

Quak Yong Sheng — Google review

The Museum is very nice. Starting at the top floor you work your way from the invention of the first engine, to the first motorized carridge to the first car and get a good historical view of transportation as we know it today. We enjoyed the exhibits that were much more than just looking at cars. The museum shows connections between world events and the car industry avoiding controversial issues.

Helena Kova? — Google review

Not all museums are boring! ;)This is such a great place to visit if you are fond of cars, technology or history. It would take 3 to 4 hours to cover all the sections. The audio guide works seamlessly. The cars on display are maintained with utmost care and are very well organized.Overall it's a must visit place for any automotive enthusiast!

Great to see the evolution of cars. Impressive collection of cars from the original to the latest high tech. It's also fun to learn MB makes all kinda of vehicles besides cars.Family tickets cost 24€ compare to Porsche musume gives you discount when you take public transportation (10€ for 2+2 family).

Ray — Google review

Superb experience! They have 8 floors in total, every floor has its own story (and year). bring back to the old history of cars until the future or up to now.👍Suggestion: heard they give discounted ticket if you enter in the afternoon, about 50% disc if im not mistaken.

Alvania Safira — Google review

My time at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart left me with mixed feelings. 🏎️💔 While there were positives, some aspects fell short of my expectations. The museum layout and historical insights into Mercedes-Benz vehicles were well done, and the reasonable entrance fee was a plus. However, the lack of significant changes over the past 5 and a half years was a bit disappointing. 🕰️🤔 I hoped for fresh additions to keep the experience captivating for returning visitors.A downside was the presence of unrelated political propaganda along the walking route between floors. 🚫🗳️ This seemed out of place and distracted from the museum's automotive focus. The souvenir shop at the end didn't live up to expectations due to high prices. 💰😕 It dampened the overall value after paying the entrance fee.I recommend avoiding the museum during summer holidays due to large crowds. 🌞🚶‍♂️ This can detract from the enjoyment of the visit. In conclusion, the Mercedes-Benz Museum has highlights, especially for car enthusiasts, but updates, pricing, and overall visitor experience could be enhanced. 🏁🚗

A great place to visit when in Stuttgart. I have been there twice now and I am mesmerized each time. Their organized manner, way of storytelling is just amazing. We started at the very beginning of human civilization of using horses as a mode of transportation. From there, the discovery and use of motor vehicles, steam engines and fuel engines was just marvelous.A huge collection of collectibles and historical facts made the entire experience worthwhile. This was really a great experience for us.They also had a nice cafeteria and souvenir store along with a simulation centre.Tickets are subsidized for students, kids and senior citizens.

Piuli Basu Roy Chowdhury — Google review

Very affordable entry. (Paid 3€ each for students.) The super welcoming staff speak multiple languages are very friendly and smiling at you when they see you. Museum was great with many exhibitions and cars as well as a unique layout different to other museums which made it more enjoyable to walk around as it gave you views of the cars you otherwise wouldn’t see.

Liam M — Google review

Absolutely loved it here. Organisation is excellent. Range of exhibits is vast - including cars, buses, racecars, etc. Wide range of German and works history also covered. Audio guide is super helpful. Took us about 3 hours to explore the entire museum. Cafe is expensive for what it is (€8 for two coca cola bottles). Public transport is good to here. We cycled from central Stuttgart no problem. But trains also available. One of the best places I've ever visited. Thank you.

John Willis — Google review

One of the best museum to see not only the development of cars but also the most significant events from around the world. The building is designed amazingly brilliant. Each floor is equipped with vehicles from decades and is connected to the next with a ramp that tells the story of important characters.

Behrooz Montazeran — Google review

This is a very interesting museum.I highly recommend visiting it. First, audio guide is included in the ticket price, interesting story about Mercedes cars. Toilets are located on each floor, water fountain as well. And what I specifically appreciated - Very friendly and helpful staff 👌

Definitely a must visit place if you love everything cars or even history. Took the guided tour, and was given a very in depth rich history of Mercedes-Benz. The models on display were simply stunning. It was amazing to know how the company started very humbly and progress into what it is today.

Jason Pooley — Google review

Very cool and bigger than expected museum. The interactive audio was spotty but very cool to hear some of the history. Lots of history in this museum of the vehicle, transport, and inventions that changed the world. Definitely a must see in Stuttgart.

Manolo Diaz-Marta — Google review

I very much enjoyed my tour of the Mercedes-Benz museum. You take an elevator ride up to the top floor and begin with looking at some of the oldest cars and engines and walk your way down to today’s modern automobiles. As you journey through over 100 years of car history, you get to enjoy looking at all the cool cars, trucks, and other various automobiles Mercedes-Benz have manufactured.I recommend getting lunch in the cafe/trying out their restaurant in the basem*nt as well and making a day trip. It took me about 3 hours to get through everything and eat both breakfast and lunch here and I came by myself, so I’d say prepare at least 5 hours if you’re visiting with a group/your family.

Zoo

Zoos & Aquariums

Wilhelma is a large and expansive zoo that showcases over 1,200 animal species in botanical and zoological gardens. The lavish gardens are housed within the grounds of an historic castle in the Bad Cannstatt district of Stuttgart, Germany. The attraction is popular for its diverse collection of animals, as well as its tranquil atmosphere.

The zoo is great, it is zoo and botanical garden. There are lot of magnolia trees. There are a wide variety of animals, aquarium, terrarium. A lot of small playground areas for children, a lot of places to rest, also a good restaurant. The parking house is very big. Great for a whole day with the whole family.

Emilia Kastreva — Google review

A great place for families to educate children about animals. Plenty of open areas for people to walk around and enjoy the beautiful gardens. Some of the enclosures for the animals are much smaller than you will find in zoos around the world. While there is a great array of animals, the enclosures need to be bigger.

Trent Draper — Google review

A nice zoo and garden! A great day with the kids. Lots of walking but well worth the effort. The map was super helpful! The penguin feeding is at 1430 and sea lion approx 1515-1530

Dev Patel — Google review

Beautiful and definitely worth visiting! A wide range of exotic animals and plants. For the botanicals, March was definitely the best time to visit. Unfortunately, a small part was under renovation. We spent about four hours, which was plenty of time to see everything.

We went at 12 pm entry time still couldn’t cover amazon and insect house so its better to go early and to carry your food.I felt low as i couldn’t see water lilies but they have wide variety of animals its worth going

A very well organized place where you can find all kinds of animals, plants, trees, birds, Amazon forest(replica 😉), varieties of flowers, gardens, penguins, a very huge aquarium and lot many.Prefer to go in the morning having a heavy breakfast so that your energy levels will be high, fresh and not too sunny.Ideal for any age group.

That's awesome! They have a wide variety of animal species, and we were able to see them up close. The area is spacious and not overcrowded. Moreover, they have really fun playgrounds for the kids. However, the food and drinks are priced like a restaurant.

The exhibits allow you to be very close to the animals. The insect and butterfly exhibit even allows you to sit in their environment. Very clean and well maintained facility. We bought tickets at the gate on a weekday. Easy access by local train.

Unexpectedly this is a really good zoo. It has lot of species and has a great funfilled sea lion show.We spent a full day here and enjoyed very much. Although one must be prepared to do lot of uphill-downhill which makes you tired. We attended few feeding sessions and except for Penguin and Sea lion, rest were average.

Huge and fun zoo… they have lots of animals and different kinds of plants too… beautifully arranged and cute themed playground on every section…

Tantri Wr Maier — Google review

Beautiful park and well organized zoo. I loved the atmosphere there. I hope some of the animals had a bigger area to roam around though, especially the fishes and the reptiles.

bishwash parajuli — Google review

Very nice and intensive place to go at. It is a huuuuge Zoo where you can spent easily three hours plus at (and even more with kids). Sometimes you may have waiting lines for certain areas, but this is rather seldom within the week. You have to opportunity to buy snacks, ice and drinks and (if you want) on the other end of the zoo is a restaurant. There are many places to sit and I would recommend to take a blanket with you to sit on the grass. I really liked it to be there, but to go without water or something to eat in between I wouldn't recommend. Nice zoo, good prices (two persons, kid and adult for roundabout 25 euros) and lots of stuff to see. Go for it! 😉

Danny R. — Google review

I visited the end of January, so I didn't get to see it in full bloom, but it was still beautiful.I loved the botanical gardens and aquarium. There was a lot to see.It was easy to get to on the U-ban.

Trena Kraft — Google review

One of the best maintained zoo and botanical gardens with good facilities. Construction to increase animals is in progress.Penguin and sea lion feeding are a must visit event and filled with a lot of energy. A well planned and designed path makes it more accessible.A little more English, especially in the entrance and during feeding, would attract more international visitors.Overall, if you're in Stuttgart, it's the best place to spend some quality time.

Subramanya A Iyer — Google review

Kujbus Zsófia — Google review

It's a great zoo with a lot of animals and beautiful gardens. It was pleasure to visit it and recommend it.

Linda Stoianova — Google review

Very nice Zoo with plenty animals too see. For people with kids you need one entire day to see everything. 42€ is the price for the Family Ticket (2 Adults + Kids). After 16:00 29,50€ which is more than fair considering all the animals and places to see. There should be more places to buy food and drinks inside the Zoo Garden. Also, the staff selling the products is quite rude and there is only Water and Pepsi Cola available ... No Coca Cola, Fanta or something else... The price for the water is 3€ and the pepsi 3.50€. Additionally, it would be nice if there is some kind of a program where you can see the feeding or have some tour guide... Other than that it was really good. Hopefully there will be more sharks in the future like it is written on the brochure.

The Porsche Museum is a museum dedicated to the history of the Porsche brand of automobiles. The museum features some beautiful vehicles from the early 20th century to the present. It also has a variety of multimedia installations that are perfect for children.

Excellent collection of classic and modern Porsche cars. Interactive displays and audio guides in English intrigued our sons, who were happy to spend a few hours learning about the history of the Porsche company (including its involvement in WWII). Definitely worth visiting if you are a car lover.

Jim Stokes — Google review

The building is impressive to see. Selection of the cars is comprehensive and well laid out. Good coverage of Porsche's engineering era and innovations. The descriptions in the audio guide were useful and intriguing. Interactive spots like revving different engines were fun! You should take time to get the most out of it.

This is the best experience I ever had in my business trips. From the moment you are inside of the build you start to feel all the good atmosphere created by all the personal working there. The system used to guide you through all the museum is available in many languages making really enjoyable being there.Car you only saw in book or in movies, you have now the opportunity to see them face to face, Amazon experience.I really loved been there, thank you so much!

Victor Freire — Google review

If you like cars at all, you will enjoy this place. My only issue was with the headsets - they only worked sporadically. The cars are cool as is the museum itself. They also have a place to grab some food and drinks and a gift shop.

Susan McGivern — Google review

One of the best museums ever. Forget the fact that I'm a Porsche enthusiast. The museum does a wonderful job of telling the story of the company as well as displaying some stunning cars. The location is convenient and the restaurants in the building are wonderful. The real selling point is how the cars are displayed. The cars are not behind glass or roped off, which really ruins pictures. They are accessible to be walked around and appreciated. For a Porsche person, this is a bucket list item.

Henry Becker — Google review

AMAZING! €24 for a family ticket which included parking, an audio guide and a take home souvenir lanyard. The museum itself was brilliantly laid out with so much incredible information and awesome cars. Highly highly recommended.

Alexandra Sarlos-Welsh — Google review

Was a little underwhelmed by the experience of the museum. It’s well-laid out and easy to follow, yet lacks a real depth of cars and history.Paid €12 for entry, and took about 1 hour to walk through the whole place, despite being quoted longer on google.

Ollie Groth — Google review

This is an OK museum, a good range of cars - but not particularly big, lacks depth of content and other than a handful of exhibits not very hands on. I've done Mercedes, BMW and Audi - all much better than this. Travelled quite a way to see this and honestly felt let down given how good the Mercedes museum was the day before.

John Willis — Google review

Fascinating! Took my three young children here. Ages 4,5,8. With your admission ticket you receive a handheld smart device to punch in the numbers at each exhibit. This give you an audio description of the exhibit and other options to interact with the exhibit. Even for my three little ones this was captivating. A solid 2-3 hours worth of entertainment. There’s also food onsite with a kids menu that is reasonably priced.

Daniel Williams — Google review

A small but a very good museum! First of all there is no option to purchase tickets online, you have to buy them at the front desk. As for the museum, the food is very impressive for a cafeteria inside of a museum. Second, it’s a small museum compared to some others but it’s packed with interesting cars and stories. Definitely worth the visit. Car park is 4 euro for 4 hours, not bad!

Probox Pepper — Google review

Excellent history of Porsche and lots of cool cars. Our whole family including boys (13, 19, and 20) loved it! Well laid out. A great mix of interactive vs historical. Really cool building design. Exceeded expectations!

Porsche Museum is one of the must-go attractions in Stuttgart. Apart from the high popularity and prestige status of this famous brand, you can also learn German's high quality in art, design, manufacturing and technology. You can find both the old and new models inside this museum. Besides, you can also visit their cafe and purchase souvenirs in the gift shop. The transportation is very convenient as it is just next to the train station. Highly recommended!

Very slick and polished just like the car itself.Polite service all around and the cars were amazing too.The audio guide works by you keying in the exhibit number and then deciding if you wanted to listen to the general history, technical information or even if you wanted a kiddy version. The escalator takes you to the museum level and you work your office at the round and up (ramps not stairs) and at the top, once you are done there's another escalator to take you all the way back down (gift shop and cafe/restaurant)We loved the cars and all the history. There's an area where you can sit in an actual Porsche car and have your picture taken and printed out for free.Definitely worth a visit! If you go to the Mercedes museum after, show them the Porsche tickets to get a discount on tickets.

I visited the Porsche Museum and had a great time. The parking garage under the museum made the visit extremely easy. The staff spoke very good English and the displays were well thought out. So many historic cars and it was really cool to see them all in person.

Very cool museum. Allow at least 2 hours to cover the museum. Very informative with descriptions of each display. Very friendly staff who spoke English and were very welcoming. Definitely recommend. Awesome piece of art out front - three Porsche's on sticks!!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, and I must say it was an experience that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was immersed in a world of automotive excellence and rich history. The museum itself is a stunning architectural masterpiece, blending modern design with elements of the brand's iconic identity. I felt an immediate sense of awe as I gazed upon the impressive collection of meticulously restored classic cars, prototypes, and racing legends on display. Each car was presented in a way that allowed me to truly appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry behind these remarkable machines. The knowledgeable staff members were also readily available to provide fascinating insights and answer any questions I had, further enhancing my understanding and appreciation of the brand's legacy. The museum also provided glimpses into the future of Porsche, showcasing cutting-edge concept cars and giving me a glimpse into the brand's commitment to innovation and sustainability. It was inspiring to see how Porsche continues to push boundaries and redefine what is possible in the automotive industry. In conclusion, my visit to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart was an unforgettable journey through the rich history and exciting future of one of the world's most renowned automotive brands. Whether you're a Porsche enthusiast or simply appreciate engineering excellence, I highly recommend a visit to this museum. It is a true celebration of automotive artistry and a testament to the remarkable legacy of Porsche

One of the best place for automobile enthusiast who want to learn about the evolution of Porsche. If we travelled by train to reach this place we will get discount on the entry ticket. Actual price is 10 euro and we paid only 5euro after showing the train ticket. The exhibits are fascinating and we can see most of the Porsche cars in this museum.Audio kit is very useful to know abt the exhibits in detail.I love cars and I will visit soon with my son who is also fond of cars.If you are an car enthusiast you must visit this museum.

Great place to visit. There are so many Porsche old and new ones.It took 30 minutes to enter. Long line to get ticket, may be because it was Saturday? There may be restriction for number of people that can enter exhibition hall at once.Heritage cars and modern Porsche, they all look beautiful in any angles. Each car is one piece of art.

Wow! What a museum. Sufficient car parking, amazing cars, wonderful history, being able to sit inside a few of there new pieces! It’s overall a great experience. If in Stuttgart I really recommend

Berke Koyluce — Google review

Fabulous museum. Really cool hands on exhibits and some amazing cars all barrier free. Two main floors and probably the worlds best small gift shop. Small cafe onsite too. Easily done in 1-2 hours and plenty of seating for those family members who need to sit down while you look. Parking directly underneath and get it validated for free. Highly recommended.

David Brown — Google review

Dream place for race car lovers and old Porsche heritage fanatics. For everyone else it's a little underwhelming and a bit average. The scale of the museum is also quite small and can be easily covered in an hour.

Arani Das — Google review

Quite accessible by public transport right next to the train station.Overall quite underwhelming compared to to the Mercedes Benz Museum I visited earlier but this may be because of the smaller range of Porsche products and singular design. Can be covered in an hour but unless you are a Porsche enthusiast and if you have limited time you can skip this.

Tim Koech — Google review

Nice museum to visit especially if you’re into cars obviously. The building is very interesting architecturally as well. The collection exhibited is pretty complete. The museum itself as an infrastructure doesn’t seem prepared to receive so many people. There are only 2 toilets which really made a huge line of wait, the cafe was full, there were no seats, no one checked our tickets to go in the museum, felt like a lot of chaos and lack of organization for this flux of people !

Jessica Kassis — Google review

Great museum! It is really well planned so you get a good Porsche experience. If you have Deutschland ticket you get discount. They lend you a smart device to hear explanation throughout the museum (I recommend it, nice surprise at the end).Very easy to get there in Ubahn. You can have your picture in a Porsche taken and printed for free. There are some things for kids, for adults also a simulator and an augmented reality experience.A must when you visit Stuttgart!

Rebeca Dallal — Google review

Incredible museum. Highly recommended if you are in the area and into cars at all. Very interesting to see some of the history behind the brand.

Jason Leiter — Google review

Attention Porschephiles! You MUST SEE this museum and the car/art they have within the walls. There are 1 of 1 examples, there are some of the finest race cars to see, there are examples from nearly EVERY model line (focus on the 911, of course) and there are some superb examples of the models that are known to makes us almost cringe to look upon. ALL of this done in a most efficient, guided semi-spiral walk-through exhibit that leads to and from both the cafe and gift shop at the entrance. I KNEW I was in for treat, but this surpassed my expectations when we got to sit and take photos in a brand new Shark Blue 911 Targa! Stunning piece of art, seriously. The hand-held audio device for exhibit interpretation is complimentary for day of use and you get to keep the Porsche lanyard as a free gift. Very well done, nods to the man himself, Ferry Porsche, and hats off to the crew who put this museum together. 10/10 Recommend! --J

Great place for all automotive no matter the brand. Porsche is classic, technology, sport. A must visit in Stuttgart together with the Mercedes Museum. The ticket is 12€ already for an adult. There are discounts for groups. Available cafe, restaurant, souvenir shop, toilet, cloakroom. With a prior reservation, you can drive a Porsche model chosen by you. The price is according to the model, a driver's license is required, a credit card deposit of 2500€ and a reservation of at least a week in advance is required. Enjoy.

Marktplatz, also known as the market square, is a picturesque and historic square located in Tubingen. At its center stands the 15th century Town Hall, featuring an intricately painted facade and a functioning astronomical clock. The square is surrounded by antique buildings and is home to small cafes and restaurants where visitors can enjoy good food, co*cktails, and coffee.

Amazing plaza with local good and outstanding architecture!

Jorge Cruz — Google review

It's a beautiful square surrounded by antique buildings. On and off, there are events such as the Christmas market or currently the "Chocolart", a chocolate themed market.

Fantastic square with the city hall at its center. The building was started in 1435 and extended over the years. Today you can find a fully preserved medieval square without any damages from WWII. It is a bustling square with many cafés and restaurants.

Tübingen Marktplatz is a historic market square with small cafés and restaurants surrounding it. One can enjoy good food, co*cktails, and nice coffee there, but not all the places are open yet. If you stay until late though, it can get pretty rowdy sometimes with drunken frat boys staggering around, yelling and trying to impress each other. Not far from the market place is the house where the famous psychiatrist Alois Alzheimer lived as a student, with a plaque affixed to the wall proclaiming the fact. The car park at Nonnenhaus is the best place to park when going there.

Well this museum is HUGE! Main focus is car related, but they have a big amount of planes and trains too. Hoped it would be less cars and more mixed technical stuff. Restaurant only has pastry of big meals. Would be good if they served sandwiches too.

Olaf van der Hee — Google review

The museum is a very complex experience, I would say it is worth visiting with all the openness and patience available.Minimum 2-3 hours visit. Tickets can be bought on the spot.Of course the main attractions are Concorde and Tupolov, absolutely fantastic.

Ioana Tamas — Google review

Excellent museum. Great setup. The exhibition changes over time. It takes a couple of hours to go around. Explanations of the exhibits are in German and English. Good for kids. It is good to have 1 euro coins for additional facilities (carting, slide, etc.)

Well laid out with plenty of room to walk around.Stunning displays of the olden cars and the airplanes.3D movie was amazing such clarity and depth. There is a parking lot attached to the museum, restaurant on the premises has a variety of food for those looking for a quick meal.

Claire Arndt — Google review

This is one of the largest collections I have ever seen, and it has a little bit of everything, entry is quite cheap, and a great price for the amazing vehicles and artifacts you will see, with the addition bonus of a 10,000 step workout. You start with a tour of Halle 1, though a primarily American collection of sports cars, which include a Ford GT, a C5 Corvette, and a 1965 Mustang, just to name a few, then heading up the stairs, there is an elaborate history display of World War II, with fascinating exhibits which include a crashed WWII plane that was scavenged from the ocean floor, a panther tank with moving tracks, and a moving turret. Continuing on to the outdoor exhibit where various tanks are on display, as well as a helicopter. Heading to Halle 2, you are greeted with a crashed Porsche, followed up with a great demonstration of trains, and sports cars from all different eras, which include the like of the Ferrari F40, Lamborghini Countach, and many F1 cars. Continuing on, there is a 24H of Le Mans display with cars like a GT40 (Replica), legendary Porsche cars, and new Toyota Hybrid hyper-cars. Going to the roof, the main attraction is the legendary Concorde, which you can go inside, and view the awesome exhibit of this historic masterpiece. There are many other planes that have tours, one of them has a slide that brings you back to Halle 2. The food tastes great, but beware, there are no free refills on drinks. The gift shop contains a number of cool memorabilia, and shirts, a great selection to choose from. Overall a fantastic experience, and a great showcase of all these legendary vehicles.Tried to post the pictures in order, but the videos come first.

What an absolutely amazing museum, English translation on 95% of the information displays. An outstanding collection of automobiles, aeroplanes, helicopters and motorcycles as well as military equipment. The place is huge, with 3 hangers to walk around and the sky deck full of aircraft.I would highly recommend a visit to this museum for anyone not just those interested in technical and automotive. There are two restaurants on site and a children’s play area which looked great fun for the little ones.

Worth visiting for all the family. You can drive a plane. You can go inside different kinds of planes. There are different kinds of vehicles. There is an amazing small version of trains tracks. Children can go inside a plane and slide inside a long slide.

Really cool museum! Very fun for kids or for adults. There’s a bit American card collections and if you like cars or aviation this is super entertaining.A bit of a line to get in the concord but that is expected and it went fast.A bit pricey but worth it.

Wonderful technical museum. Whatever you like planes, cars, motorcycles, locomotives, music boxes, sewing machines or anything between with any kind of engine, this is the place to visit. Will definitely return for a revisit, there always will be something to discover.

A must visit if you are in the area and a fan of classic vehicles. There are several large halls and outdoor exhibitions that feature everything from military vehicles to race cars. It is easily possibly to spend half a day or more touring all of the touring all of the exhibits. If you don't mind stairs you can also go inside a Concord they have on display.

Amazing museum, full of history, details and attentions to all genres and ages.We visited with children ages 6-10 and they were fascinated and excited.A MUST place for any car lover, flight enthusiast or even women 🤪Plenty of special activities for the kids, though require separate fee. Sliding in a bag from an airplane is a must experience!

Maria Hurgin — Google review

Very nice exhibitions and it's awesome that you can view some of the planes from the inside. Very pricey (21€ per person) but it's somewhat justified. Takes a good 3-4 hours to see everything in peace. When the submarine arrives, it'll be another reason to revisit the museum. 8/10

JaZoX — Google review

An incredible collection of machinery. The highlight for me was the Concord and the Tu-144 that you can walk through. But the size of the automobile, train, and military collection are the best I’ve ever seen. Do not miss it.

The trip to the museum was present for my husband’s birthday, who is an aviation nerd, but I actually enjoyed it as much as him. Great exhibition, including a lot of vintage cars, motorcycles, planes and many more, with a lot of entertainment for all ages. The one in Spyer is also amazing, so definitely go and visit them both.

Калояна Дряновска — Google review

The museum is gigantic! Its exhibits show various locomotive machines, cars, bicycles and even airplanes from different periods in human history. The best thing is that all the machines were used at some point, which is quite impressive for very old devices.Personally, I could consider the Concord the most attractive objectI don't consider the entrance expensive because they allow you to enter some exhibitions (get on trains or planes), spend all day in the museum and even take thousands of photographs.

The facility is well-maintained and clean, with friendly staff providing efficient service. Visitors can enjoy themed saunas and cold showers, as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The on-site restaurant serves tasty meals at reasonable prices.

Excellent spot to relax and sweat out all the toxins. Had an amazing salt scrub and a wonderful mud mask to go along with several themed saunas, a saltwater pool and a warm there outside. Don't miss the Sauna Boat.

It is my first visit to this beautiful and modern sauna and wellness paradise. It is located next to the exit of autobahn and has a large parking lot. We bought a one day ticket to enjoy sauna and Palmen paradise. I do not believe it is necessary to Reserve a resting chair if you do not mind to change seats after sauna. defintely check out the sauna programmes on big screen for special events and experiences. If you are on budget go for food in restaurant of Palmen Paradise and not in sauna restaurant as it costs a few euros more. try freshly made crepes in the palmen paradise for dessert. the showers are made of white marble and clean will definitely visit again. Definitely reserve weeks in advance if you are visiting on weekends

This place is GORGEOUS and very well maintained. The staff were all friendly, even to an *Ausländer* like me. The cold shower/waterfall is a delight after any of the different themed saunas. You can rent a towel to sit on in the saunas for 2 or 3 euro, or bring your own towel/robe. About half the areas inside the complex are with swimming suit; the saunas, unsurprisingly, are nude. The restaurant was had very quick service and I had a pretty tasty Schnitzel. You can eat inside or outside. Pro tip- Eat outside and enjoy the view of rolling countryside hills with a castle tower looming in the distance. Parking is plentiful and also very well maintained. —I’m including an English translation of the COVID-related rules posted outside the front door for all my English homies, if you’re reading this while that’s still relevant.—

Wonderful location! But, the customer care services is a big mistake! (no one answers the phone, email sent with delay and then, with heavy language). I lost my time and my voucher’s value trying to change the date of a reservation . Customer care services are the Achilles heel of this wonderful complex.

Nicu Harbuz — Google review

Very nice place to spend a relaxing day. The staff is super friendly and everything is clean. The layout makes sense and offers a lot of room to relax and have fun in the water. Especially the opening roof is great to allow for some fresh air in the summer.Saunas are great, with good variety, amazing themes, enough space, and a nice outdoor area. It's worth visiting for the Sauna alone.I highly recommend also booking the "lounge area" if you want a really special day. They are relatively expensive but a perfect place to retreat and unwind between activities. I especially appreciate the staff putting a fan in there to help cool down on a very hot day.We had an old voucher from 2021 where we couldn't attend due to covid, and it worked nicely. They have fair policies for canceling or moving reservations (that's also important these days)Overall, it was a great place to be, a bit expensive but totally worth it.

Lars S. — Google review

This is an amazing place! Parking is free and plenty. The entry was organised, the armband you get tells you the locker number to store your things and then you have direct access to the area. The air and water temperature was perfect, it was never cold and the whole ambiance was very comfortable. The sauna area is absolutely stunning and the saunas are big enough to enjoy them several times during the day. I would recommend to get a full day ticket with sauna included. Otherwise is half a day pretty short to visit the pools, saunas and have lunch. Price for beverages was reasonable, food was a bit pricey but the quality was very good. If you visit the sauna area and pool area, be aware that there is one restaurant per area, both with different dishes and prices.

Simply amazing. That outdoor pool, indoor pool , relaxing beds should be prebooked though . Manual massage can be done better...but do try machine massage., its worthy. Very impressed by the neatness they maintained and food is decent enough.

shiva Ganesh — Google review

Wonderful place for relaxation. It is extremely clean! You can find a free lounger because the employees keep kindly removing the towels of the guests who are not occupying the chairs at the moment - you can always find a free spot when you come back because of that, but it would be best if you would remove your things before leaving for the water. The restaurant is great, and so is the general atmosphere of the place!

Highly recommend. Please, if you have a spare day whilst visiting this part of Germany I ask you to come here. This is a once in a lifetime experience and not much else like this place exists in Europe.I strongly recommend you get the whole package with the saunas and the pools as they're a lot of fun and relaxing. Definitely suggesting to my friends when they visit from out of country!Customer service was great. There were a couple people in front of us in line that had to return to their cars to get something they forgot but overall, very efficient line. The entire facility was very clean.I’m most surprised by how affordable it was. I got the daily special today for lunch. €10 worth of Turkey curry. The macaroni and cheese was also very good. The typical co*cktail was around €8 and my radler was less than €5.My two year old daughter was with us and absolutely loved the water. It stays warm enough for extended trips to the pools and the outdoor pool still felt great with high winds at 12*C.Will return again in the future.

Heidelberg Palace is a ruined red sandstone castle that sits on a hillside in the heart of Heidelberg, Germany. It is one of the most beautiful ruins in the world and is popular with tourists for its incredible views across the Neckar River. The only way to see the interior of Heidelberg Palace is by tour - after 6pm it is open to the public for free.

Beautiful, highly recommend for a lazy stroll. The views of the palace and the city from the terrace is breathtaking. We went on a rainy day and still managed to have a great time. There’s a short hike, moderately steep but absolutely doable. Wear comfy shoes. I saw some cars up there too, so I guess it’s possible.

Michele Sidoine — Google review

Really cool castle! The views of the city are incredible. The walk up is pretty steep so be prepared if you are going that way. Don’t miss the pharmacy museum and the giant wine barrel. The inner part of the castle costs 9 euros but it’s worth it. Also check out the garden in the back for even more great views.

deependablereviews — Google review

If you like explore castles, this will be educational and fun.Starting with a hike up the castle is highly recommended! It made me appreciate so much modern amenities - there is a cable car you can purchase to go up and down as well (€9 will get a person up and down the hill for the castle). The grounds outside the castle is fun to walk around simply for the view it offers of the town. Once up at the castle level, get ticket to the courtyard. It can be included in the cable car. It will take maybe an hour or hour and half but seeing the massive wine barrel - it will be the biggest ever! and learning about the start of medicine/ pharmacy in Germany will be a fun experience in the museum inside. Wander around to the front of the castle the view is great not just the old town below but also the castle structure itself.Happy travels

Some really great views of the city and the area below. A lot of good walking. There's plenty to see. However, I was disappointed that I was displaced from the ticket shop for not having the right mask on. Apparently the n95 mask that I had on did not suffice. I'm sure this will change in time.

Great attraction. There is a train to the top, I learned this after walking up the dang hill. Wonderful views of the city. The architecture and decor are awesome.. The statues have amazing details carved into them. The garden is huge. The pharmacy museum was very interesting and offers signage in multiple languages to include English. Definitely worth taking family when they visit. Bonus, it's open on Sundays.

Beautiful palace situated up above the town with gorgeous scenery from its balconies and garden terrace.Impressive facades throughout the palace.Must do the guided tour to see its real beauty and learn about its historical misfortunes, the chapel at the end tour is exquisite.

Such a nice place! Both the castle and the gardens are worth a visit. You can access the gardens for free but will have to pay to enter the courtyard.Adult ticket is 9€ (August 23), which also includes access to the funicular going up and down. You'll need to pay an extra 6€ if you want to actually enter the castle which is only available through guided tours.

This place is magical in its beauty and rich history. Highly recommend going up for the incredible views. Most signs are in German but it appears they have information centers and tours if you want a better understanding of its story.

Great place to check out, it was wet and windy but we still enjoyed the site and your. Highly recommended the guided tour, they take you through the castle you can’t go through with a normal ticket. The garden was really cool with great city views and we could see the hustle bustle of Christmas markets from there too. The tour showed us some cool stuff in the castle and told us pretty detailed history about it. The tour group wasn’t huge either so could see/hear pretty much everything. Only 8-10 min walk up a hill or stairs to it also on old cobble stone walkways. Hope to see again some day.

A gorgeous site! The grounds are beautiful. Not much interior access. You can rent small lockers for a 1 euro deposit. Little cafe has nice & affordable snack options. Really enjoyed the apothecary museum. Take the funicular!

What a beautiful place. Rich with history. The palace is well worth taking a tour. I went with some friends and we really enjoyed taking photos and admiring at the grand and plentiful works of art. The view is incredible. The tour (i took in English) allows you to walk inside the hallways. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the palace.

One of the best “ruins castles” in Germany. We really enjoyed the tour through the castle. The views of Heidelberg from the castle are fantastic as well. It is a bit of a hike to get up to the castle. I would recommend taking the tram if you have issues with climbing stairs and hills or have strollers or older folks with you. The climb is pretty significant. I have now been to this castle several times and I’d go back again and again. Such a great place with such an interesting history.

It’s an amazing castle, I will tell any one about my visit there, the view from castle above the city is beautiful. If you would visit it, try to go before 5:30 pm, because the bus from down to castle through the mountain will close and last trip to enter it will on 5:30. It costs 14€ or 9€ for adults to buy a ticket. Garden around the castle is also nice. Enjoy 😊 (The stairs are long if you want to walk up, you can go up walking but maybe will be difficult for some people)

Samer Fahed — Google review

Amazing place, I could expend days just wandering inside and outside the castle, is simply amazing. The views that has to offer are also out of this world! I bought the ticket for €14 that allowed me the funicular and museums and then at the castle bought the audio guide which is totally worth it tbh. They had it in different languages. There’s also a Michelin 2020 restaurant inside the castle.

Cesar Holguin — Google review

Very nice old palace, you should definitely walk around and visit the garden. All the surrounding are accessible for free. But the entrance to the courtyard costs 9 euros. It’s unreasonably expensive, on my opinion. The size of the yard and what you can see inside is not worth the money. The yard is really small and partially closed for restoration, some cars are parked in places, there are too many people... In addition, to get inside the castle you need to pay even more and book a tour. So I was very disappointed. But again, the castle itself is spectacular and worth to visit, just consider thoroughly whether you need to go in.As an advantage, free toilet next to the cash register😉

This castle is located atop a hill with beautiful views of Heidelberg. There are several displays inside showing what early pharmaceutical equipment was like. You can walk to the top of the biggest wine barrel you will ever see. There is a large open area where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the views. Food is available at a couple of different places on the castle grounds. The castle is accessible by foot (a little bit of a climb) or by train (tickets are available for purchase). You could easily spend a couple hours here.

A beautiful, amazing site that has tremendous views! Over looking the entire old town, this castle is a must stop if In Heidelberg! I highly recommend going there during sunset because it’s magical to watch the city and castle grounds light up at night!

MrKingluke663 — Google review

I find this castle ruins romantic, specially when going there before sunset. Start by exploring the old bridge which offers lovely views to the city and the castle. Then walk around the old part of Heidelberg city. There are many restaurants offering different cuisines and amazing architecture. Then walk or drive to near the castle and spend the late afternoon there. There are benches to sit on.

Emy Evans — Google review

Definitely worth the trip. I took the funicular railway from station Kornmarkt, they offer different tickets, 1 to the castle, single or return, another 1 to the top. I bought the whole trip to the top, cost 14 euro. Price include entry to Heidelberg Palace. U can go all the way to the top then to the palace or stop at palace then continue to the top. I went to the top first, it was very foggy due to rain, fully covered with fog, mist. I just walk around a bit to enjoy the nature n cold. Then I went to the castle, was raining... but it has a much better view at the castle. It is so beautiful, although ruined but still majestic. There are 2 museums, pharmacy and the brewery..is free, just go in to get some shelter...but the wine barrel is so huge and the wood used to construct the barrel is so solid. I would highly recommend a trip to Heidelberg Palace/ castle

The majestic castle ruins in Heidelberg look down on the city is one of the most impressive sites to see. It is an absolute recommendation for a day trip, with great views on the city and beautiful architecture that you can enjoy even though most of it is ruins. There is a unique pharmacy history-museum, a nice cafe in the cellar, and there was a huge Playmobil exhibition last time.we visitied.

A wonderful landmark, overlooking the beautiful town and running river.Castle itself is mostly in ruins, though they converted the main ground into some simple and small museums.

lovely views, interesting history. the ticket to enter the castle was only 9€ and was absolutely worth it. we spent around 3 hours just walking around and taking in the surroundings. i recommend bringing good and comfortable shoes 👍

Heidelberg Castle is a true gem nestled in the heart of this historic city, and my recent visit left me utterly spellbound! The absolutely breathtaking view of Heidelberg city. The architecture, the history, and the sheer grandeur of Heidelberg Castle make it a must-visit destination. But the real magic happened when I reached one of the viewpoints overlooking the city. The panoramic view of Heidelberg spread out beneath me was nothing short of spectacular. I definitely recommend also taking a tour of the topmost part of the castle.

Greeshma jain — Google review

A truly amazing infrastructure with a breathtaking view of the city of Heidelberg. It was well worth it coming here. I took the stairs going up which I wouldn’t advise if you’re not doing much cardio like me. Better to use the other path or the cable car.

Visually appealing historical monument that tells the story of opulence and power. Every ornament has creative details of history and artisans with skills beyond ordinary. The texture, color and breadth of the different parts of the castle are worth seeing in a lifetime.

A must see.We visited on a Sunday in late Feb 24. Weather was cold but dry. Wear comfortable shoes/trainers.This is a great place to go and visit. Park in the underground carpark in the centre of town. Allow at least 3 hours for a visit. Entrnace was €9 per adult (includes a return ride in the funicular and entrance to the castle). We also booked an English speaking tour (lasted about 90 minutes and you get to see places the public are not allowed in (€6 per person - you can purchase it when at the castle, but check times first. Highly recommended). Most information boards in English and German. A couple of souvenir shops.

Hostel '68 Heidelberg (Old Town) is located near the picturesque ruins of Heidelberg Castle, which sits on a terraced hillside above the Old Town. The castle, built in the 16th century and made of red Neckar sandstone, is a prime example of German Renaissance architecture. The Old Town itself is well-preserved, with medieval buildings and cobblestone streets. It's also home to Germany's oldest university, adding a lively student population to the area.

Great old town you could walk around for hours

Bridge

Historic Sites

The Alte Brucke, constructed in 1788, is a historic pedestrian bridge that offers scenic views of city landmarks. The bridge was rebuilt in 1872 and again in 1988. Despite being more than 200 years old, the structure is still operational and remains one of the oldest bridges in Heidelberg.

So, not entirely about the bridge itself, but a small tip if you are visiting Heidelberg. This is an awesome place! For starters the beautiful view and park next to the river, we went for a walk through the "Philosophers weg" (perfect to get better view of the center, castle, bridge etc.) then we descended through the "schlange weg" and headed to the Old Bridge of Heidelberg into the town ( that if you didn't know has the longest street of stores in Germany!) Now I get when people say that they have lost their Heart in Heidelberg. I loved it!

Camila Guzman — Google review

Amazing famous bridge with beyond beautiful sights 😍. Pictures & videos don't do it justice. Everywhere you look here is a scenic view 📸. Was a worthy & breathtaking experience, also a great place for a date. Also, the famous Heidelberg castle is not too far away walking distance from the old bridge. Highly recommend checking them both out! 💯

Very pretty bridge over Neckar River built in late 1700s. It presents a lovely landscape of Heidelberg by two sides.

A place of immense beauty. The long and wide streets that need to be visited, the houses and buildings made of historical architecture, together with the artifacts from Heidelberg's past, are the people who come to visit many places in the world; making it into history. You feel yourself in Ortacag. Romantic, beautiful and fascinating. Heidelberg is worth seeing in general. Wonderful...

We visited this place on a really hot summer day so I was quite fuzzy and confused while being there, but you can't mistake that view, can you? The sky had a lovely color and we were able to enjoy our short trip to that bridge. Maybe we should come back on a milder day to enjoy it a bit more LOL

The old bridge spans the river Neckar in a beautiful picturesque part of Germany. Clear blue water surrounded by lush greens in this beautiful valley. Head up the footpaths on the North side of the river bank for a stunning panoramic view over the town. Amazing!

Richard Wood — Google review

The Bridge doesn't have any ticket. It will be crowded. Walk over the other side where you can see the bridge as well as castle. That's the best view.

Visiting the Old Bridge of Heidelberg is a must-do when in the city. Whether you're interested in history, architecture, or simply want to enjoy the stunning views, this bridge offers it all. It's a place that will leave you with lasting memories and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of Heidelberg.

Is older than you thank you think. Very Well preserved so look modern. Info Tables with details about bridge are only in German language. But you can use wikipedia or buy a tourist guide -book about Heidelberg in tourist information center near main railway station. Bridge is without obvious tourist traps. I didn’t met any pickpocketers, scammers or beggars. Sometimes is there guitar musicians etc. During evening Saturday 9.3.2024 isn’t crowded! Just about 30 persons around.

A marvellous piece of architecture dating 18th century. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, it is absolutely wonderful to stand on this bridge. You can see the lush green mountains all around and the beautiful old town. The arches through which the river flows down are a treat to watch. Right next to the city center, this bridge is mostly filled with the people.
